Our corners and safeties should be fine in man situations, looking at our experience. It should allow us to bring the heat. I expect a Tenuta-esque full game harassment of the QB similar to what we did to Maryland that one season (was it a Thursday night?) when Landry took Maryland's QB McBrien out of the game on an Ill advised QB keeper. Statham came in as a starry eyed freshman and we just were relentless that night on defense. It was a pretty exciting 7-3 win as we scored in the 4th to finally make the endzone. I expect defensively for the wick to be all the way turned up Saturday night on defense AND offense.
There is no excuse with the talent we have on offense not to score at least 5 TD's on offense. Sims is the most promising QB we have had since Godsey. NIU will have to respect his speed and arm strength. Allowing him to break contain is a TD threat, not just running - he can keep a play alive and find the open WR or TE. I am confident in any of our RB's and we have some good WR's with McGowan being the "where did that come from" lightning strike player
