GT vs UVA 2:00pm on the CW

Given this is a CW broadcast, I expect few streams on YT.

I have the CW channel on my Roku but see no sports options or viewing options for the game.
Buy a cheap UHF, digital antenna and plug it into your TV. CW channels seem to be ubiquitous, so you should be a able to find a local OTA station near you.

I have a fairly large outdoor antenna, and I can pick up 2 or 3 CW stations in my area. One is in Albany, GA, one in Tallahassee, FL and one in Dothan, AL - Dothan is farthest away and can be spotty, depending on the weather.

This is the thing, I see a lot of technical, engineering types on here who probably enjoy figuring out how to stream. I'm not one of those, I like convenience. I downloaded the CW app, because Hulu's CW wasn't showing the game the last time this season we were on CW. Well the app didn't have the game either. It was golf or some öööö. At a certain point, I'd rather clean my damn basement to get ready for Thanksgiving than mess around with all of these stations. Now I'm whining.

haven't had much luck, I will test it this Saturday
What about Sling? I can watch my sling account on my computer. Just an internet connection. I could plug my computer into my TV with an HDMI cable if I wanted to, too.

You have to pay money for convenience.

I think I may have just decided to drive to Cav Town this weekend and watch this one in person. For a good while, I never missed a game in the chamber of horrors we now call Scott Sisson Stadium but lately, I seem to have fallen off the bus. As much as I love BDS at Grant Field in a Hyundai, Scott Sisson stadium in October is a sight to behold.

I used to get emails from the DC GT Club about hopping on their bus trip down but I don't get those emails anymore. Probably because I always ended up parking at the wrong damn Metro stop for the bus pickup Saturday morning so they would have to wait while I drive 90 mph from Dunn Loring Metro station to Vienna Metro station where the bus actually was. And I usually had one of my kids in tow.
Made it official. Driving to the Land of Zima Saturday to witness the evisceration of CavMan.

It's a product they are broadcasting for free OTA. But for some reason can't stream on their website or app? That's not whining. That's just calling out terrible business practices. You are losing eyeballs for your advertisers and thus value for your "product".

As you point out, they make money from ads. When they broadcast ota, it goes through a bunch of regional networks who are able to sell regional ads. Those ads are actually broadcast by the regional networks.

So to set up a stream, they would need to have it set up so that they could stream every local station's ads to the appropriate users. They can't just replace the local ads with national ads because then they'd potentially be stealing local viewers away from the businesses they sold local ads to.

Obviously it's doable, as ESPN and plenty of others do it. But it's a massive logistical and legal undertaking, and that's before you even get to the technical challenges of streaming a live event, which are also high.

For a station a network which isn't primarily sports-focused, the cost of setting that all up would likely be higher than the return.

In case this helps anyone...
I had YouTube TV earlier this year. I just signed up for YouTube TV with a new email address, same IP address, different credit card. Seem to be getting the 21-day free trial no problem, can watch CW live and I see our game listed.

I looked at DirecTV Stream first because they also offer a free trial but couldn't find any indication that CW is offered in my area.

Not on Sling and no way was I going to pay $77+ just for this game.

Antenna not an option?

Ah, didn't think of that. It may well be, but I don't have an antenna anymore.

Might have to get one for the future
I've successfully used just a partially stripped wire tie for an antenna YMMV

Winning cures all ills and whatnot but it seemed to me that the game flow (as observed from in the stadium) vs UNC on ACCN was immeasurably better than BC on CW.
