GWG unis for Friday?

When O'Leary was here we wore white jerseys, gold helmet and gold pants greater than 90% of the time. Home or away. I loved it. It was like the Dallas Cowboys. They wore white jerseys/blue-silver pants 90% of the time, home and away.

My first season of fandom was 1997. WGW every game, except for 1 game each in 99/00/01 in which we wore GGW, gold jerseys with white numbers.

I think we went 12 years without seeing a navy jersey, from 1995 to 2006, until it reappeared at the 2006 ACCCG.

Yeah, but Bama has TWO recognizable uniform combinations—Home (CCW) and Away (CWW) .

Perhaps we similarly can have both a consistent Home and Away look, and perhaps a third for special occasions.

Home/neutral - GWG
Away - GWW

Home/neutral alt - WGW
Away alt - WWG

Whiteout - WWW

GBW at home no more than once a year, never neutral site

But Really He Isn'T. GIF - Zoolander Will Ferrell Mugatu ...

Bama does and no one complains about it.
No, you still don't get it. They are not wearing the EXACT same combo for 9/12 games. They wear home crimson jerseys for 6-7 games a year and white for 5-6. They dont wear plain white jerseys 9 times a year.

The return of the bad-luck-blue jackets, with blue tops and pants. Too bad. :eek2: :eekfacepalm: :ugh:

That’s a pretty reasonable balance btw consistency and variety in keeping with tradition. I’d personally be okay with navy tops for 1-2 big home games and for postseason play, but I could live with your suggestion.

We would have to ask Louisville if we want to wear white, seems like that negotiation would have already taken place if that was the direction, and Lville would have already released whatever öööö red unis they would be wearing, so I assume it will be gold or navy
Don't think you will be seeing blue. I certainly hope not anyway, Key actually knows and cares about our official brand. I don't see him deviating from it.

I thought we wore gold jerseys a lot under GOL. At least, we never wore any blue.

Key never wore blue as a player. In fact, only wore something different than G/W/G 3 times in his 4 years IIRC.

G/G/W vs BC '98 and Wake '00, and Miami '00.

I think there is a Key reason to our marketing push back towards the White and Gold and drifting back away from navy.

LSU wears YWY at least 9 games a year.
Georgia Tech historically has predominantly always worn GWG for home and away. Look at the Dodd era through the Pepper era and the O'Leary era. Tech rarely wore GWW for away until Paul Johnson came when it came the standard away uniform. Before that GWW was only worn a handful of times. Once in a bowl game under Dodd, a couple of time in the dark Bill Lewis years, and once in the 2002 bowl game.

I'm ok with GWW for one away game but like I said GWG is our historic look for both home and away. I think we should bring that back to solidify our identity.

+1 GWW is a good as a very rare alternate, but mono-white in general lacks any substance. It was unique when we first rolled the look out 15 years ago, but GWG is the best look.

We are having a black uniform at some point this year, not sure if they would do that for homecoming so maybe BC.
Where did you get this information about us wearing the blackwatch unis this year? Was it said in a presser or something?
