Have To Admit … SEC Looks Awesome

Of course they are. Why do you think high schools and colleges in the southeastern United States report back to class in early August while the rest of the country does not go back until September? Ever thought about it? I have been on school boards in Georgia and Florida. The answer to that question is called football. Coaches and delusional parents who truly believe their 170 pound high school senior who can’t run a 5.5 40 is going to play P5 and in the NFL drive that. It dominates the southeastern educational thought process. Kind of sad really.

I was going to guess that parents and guardians can’t take their kids being home all day and work to get them back in school as soon as possible. Teacher unions are almost non existent in the south so down here parents get their way with the school systems.

There are 5 or 6 really good teams. Doesn't have anything to do with a conference being strong. The talent (players and staff) is packed into 6 good teams. That's why UGA and Bama will beat their conference foes (might sec teams) by an average of 30pts this year.

And coincidentally, I think it's also why unc and NC St, two historically solid programs, can't out- talent ecu and app st anymore. Because the talent that was spread amongst programs is highly concentrated onto the top teams.

Yep. NIL and unimpeded transfer rules are going to screw 95% of college football teams.

I have to admit, you seem like a huge bitch
I just really like what the SEC has done over the last 40 years. Their fans really love football and are willing to pour millions into the programs. They have built massive, beautiful stadiums and have unmatched facilities. As a result their teams are good and provide their fans with a great game day experience, and attract lucrative TV deals. And because our whining butts are so envious we come up with all kinds of rebuttals like “You’ll work for me one day” or “Their degree is not worth the paper it’s written on.” So we can continue to use our derogatory slogans about their degrees or their intellect while the SEC Commissioner and college administrators laugh all the way to the bank, their fans have a great game day experience at packed stadiums, and their teams beat the brakes off of us. Eventually we’ll just take our ball and go home.

The ironic thing is when GT beats Clemson on Monday, it will just further reinforce the ACC sux crowd…and based off week 1 results it looks like we do suck.

I don't see how anyone thinks we can win this game.. there are multiple NFL lineman going against our mostly sophomore and unseasoned offensive line.. it's going to be a blood bath in the trenches

Other regions go back to school in early-mid August, wtf is this conspiracy theory

Have to admit ... absolutely nothing. The SEC is the Bill Clinton of football.

There's some truth in the idea that early season rankings are deceiving and some of these wins won't be looked at as impressive by year's end. Nonetheless, not every conference can suck. I'd love to be able to pinpoint a conference that's performing at a higher level than the SEC (so far this year or in recent history) but I can't really do that with any remotely objective attempt.

There was a time when the SEC lovefest wildly overstated how great they actually were, with many of their teams overrated preseason every year and teams like Bama/LSU/Florida propping up the rest of the conference, which really wasn't all that. I suppose all that hype paid dividends, because the gap now seems pretty real to me.

The SEC has Bama and Ugag. Florida had a nice win but Utah looked largely slow and unathletic & still should have won the game. They do commit to their programs as fans and $$$. Neither of whichany ACC schools do except Clemson. If you remove Bama and Ugag the SEC isn't head and shoulders above say the Big10
