Recruiting no longer matters. Not an attractive scenario but a realistic possibility, given the schedule. I have said bowl or bust, but thinking more, I would say keep with caveats; that you can keep the staff more or less intact and the recruiting class looks good. It might not be realistic, though.
Our OOC is tough. But we play in the weakest P5 division. Bowl game or see ya.Let's say collins goes 5-7 and they look good in games would you keep him or toss him out??
100% fired if one of those wins is not over UGA. 14-32 over 4 years is horrifically bad, retaining him after that would be saying "we don't care about football", in which case you may as well shut it down and stop wasting money.Let's say collins goes 5-7 and they look good in games would you keep him or toss him out??
Based on the AD's recent comments if we go 5-7 and only lose to UGA by 20, keep the game close against Clemson, and either beat UCF on the road or Ole Miss and win 4 ACC games...that would be progress and everyone comes back. 5-7/6-6 is the goal this year, per the AD.Let's say collins goes 5-7 and they look good in games would you keep him or toss him out??
More like recruiting has changed. To go after elite prospects you need the most NIL $$$. Everyone else after those top 150-200 or so guys is standard recruiting it seems. Of course this could change too where everyone creates their NIL collectives and drives up the prices in the free market. I think I will stop now as I'm talking myself into depression...Recruiting no longer matters.

I think anything less than .500 or a winning record, will result in his departure. That being said, I think it really depends on the manner of how that 5-7 record comes. If it comes at the hands of a couple of 40-50 point blowout losses, than he is gone. Ultimately, I think it comes down to us beating the teams, we are supposed to beat. It comes down to splitting the games, with similar talented teams. Lastly, it comes down to how we play against the much better teams. If we do all 3, we should be at least 6-6. If we falter and go 5-7, than I think it comes down to how we played the "big boys". I will go a step further.. If we lose against a team we should beat early in the season, than I don't think he finishes the season. A loss to Western Carolina would be an immediate fire, in my book.Let's say collins goes 5-7 and they look good in games would you keep him or toss him out??
It really depends how much improvement we show on the field. If we are in every game and look more than competent on both sides of the ball, maybe we made the right adjustments. Do we really want to start over again at that point? You will lose players and the incoming recruiting class will almost always take a hit during a coaching change year. Not a lot of scenarios where he stays with only 5 wins. Style points don’t matter this year - have to have the wins.
I tend to agree. However; Collins has a way to fool the people that seem to matter most. That's why I am not sure a 5-7 doesn't save him. For me, it's bowl or bust, with him. However; I don't sign his paycheck.Even in that scenario, if the important alums/power brokers believe the improvement was based on the new coaches only, I am not sure how CGC would survive. Again, it has to play out, and if his "persona" changed dramatically, and he looked more like a FB HC/leader than a cheerleader/catchphrase guy, who knows?
I say he is gone if we don't win 6.
gone.I'll through this out, what if he gets Tech into a 2022-23 bowl and then goes back to 3 wins again in 2024.
That will be costly since TStan will give him a lucrative extension if he gets to a bowl.gone.
