Hey Georgia fans

Who had the side by side numbers of Richt and Smart? I just remember the numbers through 3 years were nearly identical. Wanted to use it to piss off a family member this weekend. Thanks in advance

I don’t know who put them in the thread but I took a picture of them for the same reason.

Most of the ones I run into are still in the camp of "That was a dumb-ass call by Kirby, but it's ok, he has us going in the right direction. Look at his accomplishments already in year 3."

This is where I bring out these handy-dandy little stats:

1st 3 years Kirby vs. Richt

W-L Records
Kirby - 8-5, 13-2, 11-2 (32-9 total) *one more win or loss coming
Richt - 8-4, 13-1, 11-3 (32-8 total)

SEC Championships
Kirby - 1
Richt - 1

5 yr W-L Before each arrived
pre-Kirby - 50-17 (10-3.4 average, 74.6 win%)
pre-Richt - 40-19 (8-3.8 average, 67.8 win%)

So which one improved upon the predecessor?

Richt started off with a 32-8 recored, 80.0 win%, 12.2% improvement over the previous 5 yr average.
At best Kirby can have a 33-9 record, 78.6 win%, 4.0% improvement over last 5 years, but still lower win% than Richt's first 3 seasons.

So, Kirby is slightly behind where Richt was at this point. Then comes the "but we made it to the playoffs and the Championship game in his 2nd season." Richt was 13-1 his second season with an SEC championship. He would've been in the playoffs. He also would've been there in '02, and possibly '12. All of Richt's success also came when Florida and Tennessee had solid programs, and Spurrier at USCe had the Dwags number. Now they are in the weakest SEC East there has ever been, and he is still Richt 2.0.
