High School Offense

Agree Veer. Paul Johnson was run off because we weren't "exciting" and didn't have an "entertaining" offense. That debacle last night was a complete joke. Pathetic offensive line. The tight end had no business being in a Div. 1 football game. But, we can say this for Collins, he's going to keep "Money Down" until the door hits him on the ass. And for good measure, maybe the worst uniforms Tech has ever put on.

Paul Johnson was a good football coach whose weaknesses were recruiting and building a P5 staff. Geoff Collins is a bad football coach who doesn't know how to run a program.

CPJ was a fantastic coach for just over a decade at Tech. His teams were on the decline after JT5 graduated. We finished his tenure by getting booty blasted by Minnesota. He hadn’t been able to move the ball on Clemson or Georgia DLs for a while there at the end.

Most programs struggle without a rockstar QB and the triple option especially so. IIWII.

High School Offense works with a QB that can keep defenses honest with a vertical passing threat. We had that with Smooth and sometimes Nesbitt and Washington. However, we chose to get with the times as they say and go pro style which is good, just picked the wrong head coach.

It's not just that. We had better defense / secondary as well.

The 3/o meant we competed for different prospects instead of trying to fish from the same pond as everyone else. I think the debate largely centers around whether that juice is worth the squeeze.

Better defense and secondary? Yea, maybe in the first two seasons and 2014 but that's it.

The rule changes around blocking is what ultimately killed the TO for us.

We had nearly the worst secondary in all of FBS last year. Even the year that Al Groh was fired we were better. Woody's 2018 def is the only one who ever had a worse year than our defensive guru.

FEI def:
08 - 44 wommack
09 - 74
10 - 72 groh
11 - 76
12 - 67 kelly/groh
13 - 62 roof
14 - 58
15 - 48
16 - 66
17 - 47
18 - 102 woody

19 - 93 clown
20 - 88
21 - 112

Paul Johnson scored more points against uga in his last 2 years than Collins has scored so far.
28 vs 7.

He almost has the same number of points against clemson in his last 2 years as Collins has in 4.
31 (10 + 21) vs 39 ( 14 + 7 + 8 + 10)
