OP, trying to convince a bunch of geezers to join the 21st century is a lost cause. People would much rather call you a pussy for being offended (read: demanding a higher standard of communication and language, especially with respect to LGBT or POC pejoratives) than take a moment for introspection and think "shit, maybe I could be less of an Archie Bunker and that wouldn't make me less of a man."

I agree with you 100%, but my advice to you would be to stick to talking sports and just let these retrograde fossils and their ancient sociopolitical beliefs wither away. Telling people they're offensive just encourages them to dig in their heels (for some reason).
