How much of this success should we attribute to Collins?

No head coach can change *everything* in a week so this is still largely Collins' team, for better or worse. These are players he recruited, acculturated, "coached". These are assistant coaches Collins hired. Yes, Key seems to have addressed some glaring problems, but it's not a brand new team. I think you can't remove Collins from all blame or all credit going forward this season.
This is a world-class dumb take. You should feel bad.

Yes but the issues were glaring and fixed. Collins didn’t do that.

Is this supposed to be a defense of Collins? Because it sounds like the strongest indictment against him.

No. I'm just saying this season's team is in large part a product of Collins, however it does. A team is built over time, not just in a week. Collins' players, Collins' coaches, Collins' spring and fall camp, etc. He deserves some blame if it loses, and some credit if it wins.

I think there is a significant difference between Clemson/Ole Miss and Pitt/Duke that should be considered. With that said, there is zero % chance we win both games with Collins as HC. What Key is showing is that we can be competitive with the remainder of the schedule. That was not a belief many had, especially me, coming out of the UCF game.

If there were a few glaring problems that could be fixed in 4 days, that’s a pretty big condemnation of Collins.

Your Realtor just called - she found the perfect $13M house. Why don't you buy it, open the oven, turn on the gas and take a long nap.

I'll answer with a question: How much of this success was caused by our Tiktok content?

How much success would a competent coach have had in year 1 in ‘19?

All the greatest transition talk was a sulf fulfilling prophecy that made no sense to tell anyone. Set the tone and expectations which were met. He then repeated the same results for two seasons and was going to do it again.

Lets just say that CBK is making it hard to hire someone else as the new head coach. still a long way to go but if the first two weeks are any indication, all hell will break loose if they bring someone else in.

Collins was anchor tied to a hot air balloon. Cutting him loose is the reason we are flying.

Don't totally disagree with the metaphor.

It's like if Collins built a car but it kept breaking down and crashing into things. Key made some repairs, gave it a better paint job, and is driving it better. But it ain't the car Key built.

Ok, let's expand on your metaphor:
Guy A spends 3.25 years building a car, can't get it running, gets fired. Guy B gets it running in 4 days.

Imagine being the AD that passes on CBK and hires a more expensive coach who turns out to be unsuccessful.
