No, the game I am referring to was at Maryland. I met Bill Lewis a few weeks before at an alumni thing at the Army/Navy Country club - I had just moved back to the East Coast after living in Hawai'i for a few years. I had no idea what was going on and didn't realize the issues with our program. He seemed like a good guy but, again, I was very out of the loop.

Then, all the sudden, he was fired during an away game - wow.

Collins should be fired before the stroke of midnight tonight or I will have no respect at all for our athletic department. I had season tix since 1985 and cancelled them this year - hardest damn thing I've done in years (I live in Virginia so could rarely make games). I came to the VT game last year and it was totally uninspiring. I've never been so bored at a GT game in my life.

I actually feel sorry for the guys who actually attend the recent games in person. No Tech fan deserves what this idiot Collins is putting on the field.

Just like when O'Leary took over as a competent assistant, give the reigns to Chip Long - he cannot be any worse but you have to remove Collins from the locker room and start to put adults in charge.

I know I will keep watching (or least checking the score on Saturdays, as I resorted to for a lot of the latter half of last year), but I'm really glad my emotional investment isn't what it used to be. Games like today are a bummer, but I mostly just laugh and shake my head. I can't really muster anger anymore.

Perhaps, but the last game I really got angry about was the Pitt game last year. The UNC win tricked me into thinking we were figuring things out, then immediately reverted to looking clueless and dysfunctional. After that, I kinda knew we would never be a decent program under Collins.

Lewis wasn’t owed a huge buyout either.

We really want that clown Key being promoted to interim head coach? He sucks as much as Goof and Thacker.

Fire him and promote Long.

While I'm not sold on Long, I just don't want Key serving as head coach for any amount of time on principle alone. We pay him big money to be an OL guru and our line has sucked the entire time he's been here.
