I wish we still had Tenuta

Okay, here's my one attempt to put an end to this complete idiocy:

Wommack's statistical record as a DC is factually superior to Tenuta's in every measurable way.

1. Their yardage and total points numbers are almost exactly the same -- within about 10 yards and half a point per game.

2. Wommack's defenses have generated a LOT more turnovers. Tenuta's all time season high is 28. Wommack has beaten that in four of his six seasons as a DC. He averages about a half dozen more turnovers per season than Tenuta.

3. Wommack has had a lot less returning experience than Tenuta. He has averaged about one less returning starter than Tenuta did. Tenuta's returned 9 starters twice while Wommack never returned more than 8; and Wommack returned 3 in 2004 and 4 in 2008 while Tenuta never had fewer than 5 coming back.

4. There's no reasonable argument that Wommack had more talent relative to his opposition.

5. Tenuta had 7 seasons in one job while Wommack has never had the chance to really establish his defense. His longest tenure was at Arkansas -- which returned 4 total starters in his third season, resulting in Nutt being forced to fire him despite his having done a solid job under the circumstances.

Well said sir. I agree whole heartedly.

I'm not hating on Tenuta....I'm giving credit where it's due and Wommack is a FANTASTIC DC.

Probably the best we've had since OLeary was one waaaaaay back when

Your fantastic DC just gave up 42, 38, and 27 points in a row.

Perhaps we should see what Tenuta's record was against ranked opponents, or maybe against non-ACC BCS opponents, since that occupies two of the 3 scores you mentioned.

Hey Dumb****...how do you figure???? JSU had 17

Again you're an idiot.

Also, if you understood anything remotely close to the game of football you'd realize that the 38 was going to be a given when you hand the opposing team the ball 3 times inside your own 35 yd line.

Sinc you like stats so much...their offense and ours in that game were almost identical

Another stat for you W/L/W/W (I added the one you left out)

now, go make up a formula to figure out how asinine you are dip-****

If you can't disagree with someone without tossing out reams of random playground insults, maybe you should re-evaluate your life.

I don't count D1AA games. Those are the equivalent of NFL preseason games.

So now wommack is in charge of the offense too? If Tenuta had any offensive support we'd have a lot more wins too.

How well did all John do late in the fourth quarter on Saturday. Oh I remember, blizzed everybody and got burned. Still the same, can't do it at crunch time.

Go Blue. Sorry Tenuta :laugher: I laugh at you as Michigan's 3rd True Freshman QB lit your butt up. You deserve it.

Wasn't Tenuta a popular choice for head coach after Gailey was gone? I thought everybody loved him while he was here at GT.

As an aside, this is another epic roasting of Kyle via the new tag feature.

Don't think he was ever seriously considered. He has never been given a real shot; makes you wonder. There is certainly a reason.

From everything I had heard was that Tenuta was a terrible recruiter, and the fact that we had been without a good offense for 7 years led us to a more offense prone HC.

My life has been more peaceful since I have just accepted that this thread will never die. I embrace it. It's like paying taxes. Nothing I can do about it, I just need to live my life in harmony with it. And I'm okay with that now.;)

The letters "Kyle" now no longer have any meaning to me after reading those tags. Just looks like a jumble of letters. Could be foreign.
