If Collins Isn’t Fired This Week…

My wife’s gonna be so impressed with all the yardwork I get done around 4pm on Saturday.

In my entire life, I have never even considered willfully not watching a Tech team take the field. And let’s be real, I probably will regardless — but I can’t be the only one who feels this way.

And if the fans are quitting on the team, how is it possible for him to not lose the locker room? If he hasn’t already?

So the question is: How can we afford NOT to fire the guy right now?
Your yard is gonna be immaculate.

I do not want to ever again hear how much Collins and TStan care about Tech.

Where are our former players? Hopefully they are working behind the scenes.

I think our former players working behind the scenes are a big part of the reason we are in this mess. I remember how I kept hearing that former players didn't like CPJ or the option and were all aboard the Geoff train. This debacle has former players fingers prints all over it, TStan, Key, Burton, Choice, ... the list goes on. That former players cabal might be trying to hide in a closet right now.

Whatever man.. this post is just grasping at straws

We are like a neglected spouse at this point. We keep threatening to boot our spouse from the house, knowing the spouse is gonna clean us out.

There are very few decent players on the team, but what few there are will soon start to opt out like Gibbs last year. No one wants to blow a knee staying on a sinking ship.

Grasping for straws how?? I'm not the one who brought up former players; but the program has had more former player involvement the past 4 years than I recall over the last 40 years. I can understand former players being butthurt over the comment; but they also need to face the reality. Maybe TStan and Key will listen to some former teammates if they are approached and do the right thing; but that conversation appears to be overdue. There was a lot of talk 4 years ago about how the former players were going to get us back on course and "no more small ball". Well maybe they need to huddle again and have a serious discussion about what has gone wrong. I am fine if the next phase of the program doesn't have a former player anywhere on staff or in a decision-making position.

Some vocal players hated the 3O. And many trash talked it which did not help recruiting during that time. Winning a conference championship and Orange Bowl with a "high school offense' shamed them somehow apparently. Experience playing football obviously does not make one an expert in all things football. Fans and media give former players too much credence.

Here is the risk for Collins. He holds out to force GT to fire him now (more money) or fire him at the end of the season (less money).
But he has to make it through 2 months in the locker room with 100 guys who hate him. One wrong word or one shove and he gets fired with cause (no money). And with every blowout, his professional reputation takes a hit. He drops from coordinator level to off field analyst.

We cannot afford not to fire him, i know 1st hand GT offered several coaches assistant jobs at the end of last season. Most had jobs but were afraid to take a job at GT cause they knew it was probably a 1 year job and then be on the street. To not fire him is the same as burning the program down.

I think it gets sorted out in the next 2 weeks. As of today, Collins and Stansbury can credibly argue our record is what everyone expected it to be and we are still alive for 6 wins. There is no credible path to a bowl without UCF as a win and certainly no path after a 1-4 start. If we pull off a win, I am not sure.

I agree and made similar points after year two and year three. But "biggest transition in the history of football" and "but money". The first excuse bullshit is obvious to everyone now. The "money" issue still sways a lot of people including the idiot that hired Collins and created that exact money problem himself. Tech is effed until Tstan is history. Collins is the obvious oozing puss of the sore but the real underlying infection is Tstan.

The clown might actually be getting fired today … the press conference was scheduled for 10:35 this morning and still hasn’t started …

Don’t have to answer tough questions if you don’t show up to the press conference.

A crude, but apt analogy.

TDope is a clown that should NOT be allowed to make any more decisions affecting anything with the football program.

Where is the school prez? Is it really that hard to pretend to care?
