At this point I would take him if he wanted it but Collins proved a coach can recruit at GT and any competent coach can turn that into wins.
 
No to the option. Loved CPJ but let’s not look back. Con man did bring some talent in, he just has no idea how to coach.

I don’t know dude. In the 90s Russians were so tired of corruption, poverty and incompetence that people wanted communism back. We’re 90s Russia right now.

Geoff Collins led Temple to their best record in modern program history? They had two back-to-back 10 win seasons before he got there.

Ha, quality analogy there. Not sure about corruption, but we definitely have a poverty of wins and plenty of incompetence. Hopefully we don't go the commie route though...keep pushing forward, not back.

I don't think it is that dire. I think the players we have could improve substantially and quickly with just average coaching and something resembling normal football practice. I really wonder if the oddball practice philosophy is Collins' biggest blunder.

You're right. It is no longer an excuse for CGC and no longer an option (pun intended of course) going forward.
 
Why roll the dice on another Geoff when we have a guy who has proven he can win HERE? Isn't that the reason people are still gaga over OLeary and Fridge?
 
We'd have a 2008 with Monken in year 1 & then return to 5-6 wins in yrs 2+ we'd never beat uga again. Not sure why monken fans have forgotten 2017-18.

If Wake Forest can win sans TO, so can we. No gimmick bullshit needed

1) Monken wasn’t here in 2017-2018.
2) If being a single play away from a division title in 2018 is something we would be disappointed with, then sign my ass up.
3) Wake runs a lot of option, and Monken has said he is not married to the 3O that we had under CPJ.
