Interesting read

If he's out of a job at the end of the season, I hope we don't get Muschamp. The other names mentioned look solid.

I wonder why the don't get along?

why? b/c rad forced gailey to get rid of nix. And nix and gailey were such butt buddies that it PO'd gailey claiming he should run his own team

Oh also, Rad is familiar with 51-7 twice, 39-3, 0-5 amongst a litany of other failures such as 2-5 in our last 7, 0-5 in our last 5 against winning opponents.

also familiar with the inability of gailey to make decisions quick enough to positively affect the GT program...see point 1.

And...its no DRad's boy. If Drad is going to try to make GT money...he wants his guys there.

Pat Dye was a UGA guy...and became a legend at AU

Bobby Dodd was a UT boy, and went to Tech...they were semi-rivals at the time.

Vince Drooley was a AU guy...he did fine at UGA

Bottom line, alumns do coach rivals and can succeed. Just look Mindy is coaching our cheerleading team, and she is a UGA alumn....badda bing.

I am ok with him being a UGA alumn. I don't want him b/c I don't think he is that good a coach. I would rather have a current Mid-major head guy who has somewhat proven himself, than a coord that Dan knew and is new at HC spot

I dont think we have to worry about Muschamp. I'm surprised his name was mentioned.

I don't think we do either...his name was only mentioned as previous affiliation with Rad. There is no truth to it.

There is alot of truth with Jimbo Fisher however.

I could give names but I might have someone in my office within 5 seconds

Additionally, wasn't there a link the other day to where Gailey was advising prospects not to count on him being here?

I do have to say, barring an amazing run in the rest of the season, that Gailey's chair will be blazing. And he may well be gone with another trademark end of season swoon.

I don't particularly want Gailey to leave, but he's had time and this season should have been the one that put the stamp of success on his tenure. That may yet happen, but I'm thinking 6 wins is the most we can reasonably expect.

I hate it because the new coach will have to rebuild the recruiting channels. Coaching transitions are tough here at Tech, but it may be time to bite the bullet.

Jimbo gets my vote.

That was GeeTee being an idiot and posting an article that was written back when Chan was in the running for those pro jobs.

The article that was referenced was from when Chan was in the running for the Pittsburgh and Miami NFL jobs earlier this year.

Yes, but you all DO know that we'll have AT LEAST a two or three year hangover from all of this if there IS a change, right? 7 or 8 wins will be the BEST we can do. This is NOT Alabama or UGA you know.

I didn't know David Braine was a member of ST.

who cares...we're in the midst of a hangover anyway since OLeary left us...

So, does this mean that you won't call for the new guy's head every day (like you've done for Gailey) if he goes 5-6 the first year? Because that's far more likely than 8-4 or even 7-5.

What was O'Leary's record his last year?

I don't hang around the AA enough to know whether "AD Dan" and "Everyman" Chan are having hall sex, but I really can't imagine DRad or HCCG dropping their PC guards low enough to even create a rumor like that.

Moving Nix and letting Chan shop himself last year didn't ever seem like anything personal to me. It seemed more like he was appeasing the restless natives and maybe giving himself what every new AD wants - a clean slate - as a bonus.

That rumor seems entirely fabricated to me. Even so, I do like the list of possibilities, provided we can afford them.
