Interesting read

Yes, but you all DO know that we'll have AT LEAST a two or three year hangover from all of this if there IS a change, right? 7 or 8 wins will be the BEST we can do. This is NOT Alabama or UGA you know.

That's the kind of attitude that perpetuates 7-5 seasons forever!

7 or 8 wins is basically the best we can do now. (After this year, last year's 9-5 will be diluted by this years 6-6 or so to even out).

Ha, oops...9-5, totally got confused...I was thinking of my expectations for this year...still possible!

Hey guys, get a grip.
This is coming from FOOTBALL RUMOR MILL! Does ANYONE know for sure if their is any truth about what kind of relationship Drad has with Chan?

The biggest gripe I have about Chan Gailey is that he puts his loyalties above Tech football, eg. excessive loyalty to RB, keeping incompetent coaches until their contracts expired, not giving our highly talented backup QB meaningful playing time so far this year. If he had been the caoch at UF last year, he probably would have redshirted Tebow behind Leak. Good coaches like Meyer and Spurrier who have a burning desire to win are not afraid to rock the boat when things ain't going well. I am afraid CG does not have the gonads for that and is too stubborn to change.

I'm not getting too excited. How many "rumors" ever turn out to be true anyway. Too early in the season anyway.

Bogey,

get a grip...you don't know if the back-up is talented or not and you epitomize monday morning qb'ing.
I'm going to guess you never played ball..did you? And that you wear yellow pants and tie to the games??

There is one person who in my opinion would take GT to the next level and would be the perfect fit.

He's been a winner where ever he's been.
He understands coaching at an academic school
He has ties and in roads for recruiting in the State of Georgia...

His name is Paul Johnson and he is the Coach at Navy. And don't give me this bull about him coming to GT and running the triple option offense. He's smart enough to know not to do that and he uses his personnel the best way he can.

But I like the triple option.

Wreckingball,
You are full of it. I have seen JN in scrimmages and seen him in games. He hit a wr on a out pattern on the dead run and took a blitzing LB head on in the Samford game and made 20 yards. If you don't know JN is talented then you are either an idiot or you have never seen him play.
And what I wear to the game is none of your freaking business, but it ain't no yellow pants and tie! Posters like you really turn me off this place.
Are you one of the ass holes that through crap on the field when things ain't going our way?

Bogey,
To satisfy your novice edification...this is college ball not high school. JN might very well be a stud but like I said you don't know that... and now is not the time for CG to force that card upon him. And you may try and bull**** your way through this message board with your bogus stats but not in the real world yellow britches...your stat on JN's run in the Samford game is as wrong as it gets. We can all see through your previous posts that JN is your pick..and i hope he does well when his turn comes ...but we can equally see your need for some more schooling on the game of football.

Yes or no. Did you ever post that RB should be replaced by TB at QB? Ever?

Asking because I really don't know whether you did or not, but based upon the sentiment around these parts, I'm guessing you did.

wreckingball,
High school? WTF are you talking about?
You dispute what I saw in the Samford game but do not tell what you "saw". The LB came through UNTOUCHED, hit him head on, and yet Josh made a great gain. Please tell me what went you "saw"? I would like to know where I am wrong.
The game is competition, all sports are whether it is football, baseball, golf, tennis, etc. I am not saying JN should start, but I have seen enough of him at Tech to say he has enough talent to deserve to compete for his spot in game situations and gain game experience. 20% 3rd down conversions just doesn't cut it on this level and we need to investigate other options. I watched Bobby Dodd start Stan Gann, who was everyone's pick to be All American, for half the season. Every game, Billy Lotheridge came in the second half and won the game for us, as a true freshman. I don't think that would have happened with Chan the Man.
Are you sure you know as much about this game as you think you do? :laugher:
I don't think so.
But hey, let's have a drink for the guys in white and gold, win or lose. I love em all.
:drink1:Cheers

I cannot put alot of stock into an article/blurb/blog --whatever you want to call it-- that does not even have a name attached with the article (unless I just missed it).

Bogey, guys, everyone, please!

You do realize you're arguing about the, 1, 2, 3, yes, THIRD string QB don't ya?

If someone's gonna replace Tater, wouldn't it be Booker?

Refresh my memory. What year did freshmen become eligible to play in varsity games?

Yeah, but if we're going to quit on this season and play for the future wouldn't it make sense to put Nesbitt in?

Hate to be a skeptic, but what I've seen is QB draw, QB draw, QB sweep, punt.

Not harshing on the guy, I just haven't seen it.

Agreed. All I've seen from him is a bunch of stuffed QB draws. Nesbitt has one passing attempt on the year.

And beej, what the hell is a QB sweep!? Do you mean option keeper?

None of those guys mentioned look promising to me...none have head coaching experience.

Heck...John Bond has shown more offense with less than talent this year than Jimbo Fisher at FSU!

Anyway...lets play this season and lock in this recruiting class (should get Munroe and Leslie this weekend...hopefully get Thompson in October) then worry about it in early December.
