Is anyone else trying to negotiate their Tech Fund?

If the original post isn't some kind of joke, then I'm embarrassed.....both FOR and BY you.
Agreed BF.

FWIW, I personally know several alum who have purchased season tickets this year beyond what they purchase for themselves to donate to Big Brothers/Sisters of Atlanta, Boys/Girls Club and Centennial Place Elementary.

Well, typical for your posts bunger that's not what that article says. It states that 85% have renewed at this point and the ticket office is calling those who haven't. It says we've sold about 26,000 so far, but doesn't say how many we sold at this point last year or for that matter how many we sold in total. So we really don't know how ticket sales are going do we? Not enough info, which is about par for the course for the AJC.

I am leery of posting this here as i might lose my leverage by letting the cat out of the bag. I believe there is absolutely no demand for Tech tix this season at the inflated Tech fund prices.

So, I paid for my seasons without donating. I told them either they give me the same seats as last year or refund my money. I told them next season, if demand is greater, I'll pay the Tech Fund.

I've got to believe they're going to be selling excellent seats in the 3 game packs as there is little demand for $200-$300 per seat Tech fund seats. they have not given my seats away yet so it's not like they have others wanting to buy them.

Do you think i'll be successful?

So what was the eventual outcome of this? I was wondering if anyone was successful at getting their old seats without paying the Tech Fund.

So if you have a question for thwg why not send him a message? Trying to stir things up again? Douchebag.

You're a bunch of cheap bastards.

I gave up my good seats (2nd row, 30 yd line) because I couldn't afford the Tech fund, and instead got cheap ones in the Jackets Nest, upper north. I trust my old seats went to someone willing to pay for them. Never would I attempt to extort GT, no matter what I project the demand for seats might be.

OMG! Don't tell me you and I are in the same section! 215?

I tend to agree. The only way we can run a top notch program is with cash. And one day in the very near future when we start kicking butt and demand is great, I hope the athletic association rewards those fans that have been paying the full price.

BTW- the question was raised if THWG was successful about negotiating the Tech fund. I can say without a doubt that no he was not. Apparently the link to this thread was sent around to some people at the GTAA and influential donors which insured that the smoke swirling from this would be stomped out quickly.

I am trying to negotiate my Athletic fee. It is $118 for non-guaranteed tickets. Might as well pay $140 and get jackets nest ones. Cheaper than joining swarm.

I didn't like the Tech Fund too much and still don't but I do still buy tickets.

I did have 4. Now, I only have two to offset the costs. The other two were basically to bring friends. Now they just scalp a ticket when they want to come to a game.

I also put a UGA alumn in my other seat for that game, but that's b/c it's my father.

I think my bigger complaint has been the parking/restrooms. We finally broke down and bought one pass to split b/t four people. We're just going to meet off campus and drive. But we had people coming from Florida, NE Georgia and NW Georgia so it's going to be a pain.

They've limited the allowed parking area more and more every year and have provided less bathroom facilities. We voiced these concerns with DRad. He responded that he knew it was a concern among many fans and would look into it. Guess, we'll find out soon enough.

And, quite likely, hoards of opposing fans in the other direction.

Jax St - no
G-W - no
Duke - no
Uva - no
FSU - Only if they have less than 2 losses
MSU - maybe, I don't know how well they are traveling these days
Miami - no

This year we are selling most of our tickets to Tech fans.

So you're saying we'll have the entire upper north to ourselves?

Sweet.

I might bring some couches and set up one section higher than my seats are. Maybe bring a TV and a generator or something. That would be totally awesome.

There won't be any room, we're going to average 42 pts/game in September.

Dwyer's going to run for so many yards this season people are going to start to think he's Kenyan.
