I remember seeing that happen live. One of the most horrific things I've ever seen in a football game. Sad thing is, Tyrone Prothro made one of the most amazing catches I've ever seen. Then that happened. One of the few times I've felt bad for a Bama player.

I will send you the bill to clean vomit off my shirt. I was hoping to never see that again. Yes, it's real.

Poor kid, that pretty much ended his career. I blame Alabama's coaches though. It was in the 4th quarter with like less than nine minutes left, and the score was 31-3. There was no reason to run up the score.

You can't blame a coaching staff for a kid getting hurt like that. It's a freak injury that he was likely prone to.

The game was a blowout and the kid did not even need to be in there...
Yep. The kid should never have been in that game at that point. If you watch the video of the injury, which is like watching a slow motion train wreck, you see the UF defender bring his weight down on Prothro, which is probably what caused the injury. It was stupid and arrogant to have that kid playing at that point of the game, and he suffered a career ending injury for it.

I felt this pissed off when Tony Hollings got hurt, because it was the same thing. I still wish death upon those damn Mormons everytime they play.

I remember that game; it was excruciating to watch as a Gator fan. I feel bad for the guy too, as he definitely had a excellent potential NFL career ahead of him.

Hopefully, however, a lesson was learned that running up the score is to no one's benefit.

This coming from a gator fan?

Haha ironic--possibly hypocritical?--I know, but UF has been on the opposite end of blowouts several times, the 1996 Fiesta Bowl against Nebraska is a glaring example. What goes around comes around I guess.

It could have happened to a backup, and it would have been no less horific. So what's it matter if they were running up the score?

You have a point--it looks like I sort of opened up a can of worms here--but let me say that I feel if Alabama would have played less aggressively and chewed up the clock on the ground instead, this might not have happened.

Changing topics, did anyone see the Southern Miss receiver break his leg--I think it was his leg--during the Bowls last season? That was another one of those gut wrenching replays.

The kid hitting the cart running out of the endzone was the worst I've seen since Prothro's floppy leg.

Although, I started watching some show on MTV about skateboarders hurting themselves and those kids have the monopoly on horrific looking injuries caught on tape.
