I think you were seeing that fact that those "nerds" have learned that enough is enough. This coach is not the answer, and these "nerds" made their thoughts very vocal.

I like how now we have our own fans referring to our stereotypes...would be like a UGAg fan calling their fans rednecks...
 
Tell James to grow up, this is college football, and if he wants to whine about the fans, then he needs to stop dropping the ball and playing lost.

The booing has always been there. We booed O'Leary early in his career when he made a bad decision. We booed Lewis. Most every coach has gotten booed. People booed Gailey because they wanted to send a resounding message to the AD. Guess what, it worked. If you don't think that gets DRad's attention better than anything else, then you just don't get it. Fans boo coaches. It happens at EVERY school. Those kids could have chosen to go to other schools, like maybe UGA where in 1999 the fans threw food and drinks at their own players bench when Auburn waxed them at home. They seem to have recovered from that.

Our players seem a little soft to me. I've never heard of players being effected by boos until now. Shut up and play. You get blasted at home 27-3, you don't come back the next day looking for the sympathy card. This is a sure sign of the leadership we are currently under.

Woah cowboy, why are they wimps for leaving early? If a guy walks out in the 3rd quarter he's a wimp for not putting up with the pathetic effort the coaches gave after spending money on tickets?

They are my team. If I am going to stay to celebrate victory with them....I will go down in defeat with them as well and feel the pain.

We are in this together. They owe me nothing...and I owe them nothing.

Definitely not tough enough if they left because they were upset with the outcome. I will stand behind my statement.

Leaving because your kids have to get to bed, you drove 6 hours, your sick, etc. I could live with.

Heck...even our beloved O'Leary once said he had no use for fans that would miss our games because of their kids having a game....he said "don't even bother telling why you won't be there if that is the case...I (not we) don't need you."
 
I am sorry with this coach , i have used up all my pain pills.

You should probably lighten up on yourself a little bit, and don't take yourself so seriously. It's probably safe to say that Men's Head Football Coach Chan Gailey did not give thanks you were there until the bitter end with him.

What the fans are is a barometer for the AD. In this case, I think Dan got the clear and undisputed message he needed to hear.

That Big Boi show was sumthin else though!! Maybe they should have put him on after the game.

I probably take it more seriously because I have taken the time to always get to know the players and the coaches ever since I was a student-athlete there in the 80's. Because of that...I do not see them as a jersey number and a name.

Too close??...no such thing at this level.

As far as Big Boi....totally inappropriate to have someone with the type of lyrics he spits out on a regular basis. Pretty much all rap and hip-hop can go away for all I care. I went to talk with friends at halftime in the corridor. Downside side of that was having to be around all of the people working so hard to end their life early by smoking!! :fingersx:

Red, it doesn't offend anyone that you stay to the end, and wouldn't if you turned off the stadium lights.
However, if the majority of fans were like you, Dan couldn't fire The Chancellor.

(Just to be clear, if Big Boi played after the game, maybe 50 fewer would have left early)
 
Anybody else see the irony of ed calling Tech fans wimps while defending people getting their feelings hurt by booing?

If your going to play the hardass move, be consistent.
 
As a former college athlete I now look at JJ with disgust at the moment... You just got your butt handed to you and you go whine to the media?! You had some good catches, I'll give you that. You also dropped the ball for a score and then fumbled the next time around. Stop complaining. Booing happens, it hurt us to lose just like it hurt you. Fans voiced their displeasure at CCG! Not you!
That being said it happens sometimes... People boo. People get upset... I've been there... Sometimes it was so bad you don't even want to go to class the next day cause you feel every one is judging you on the way.
You deal with it like a man! You don't go complain and whine to the media it makes you look like a crybaby.
 
We should ask our players to kindly take off their headphones during the media relations class they take every year before the season starts.

I have NEVER seen so many boneheaded comments from a Georgia Tech team. There are problems in so many areas...it really is mind boggling. :ugh:

Thank you sir! James Johnson has been a MAJOR disappointment this year, and has NO room to be complaining about booing.
