Jaybo Shaw

bebe will not be sticking around this mess nor will Peak. Nesbitt won't have the grades to play...that's no secrect around the locker room and that's why they won't be wasting any minutes on him on the blue turf. Two more key players trying to make a deal to get out of town as well.

Pure ignorance...

Judging from your comments and your spelling, it sounds like you are very close to the program and the locker room...

I see that you have 96 post since '05, let's try to stay away from 100, okay.

I used Scout only to reference the skills results while at the same time clarifying that I did not give much credence to either Scout or Rival when it comes to star ratings ( that was implied for the sake of brevity) My opinion at 1st glance is that his skills test results are nothing to get excited about and his size is a red flag. ..M.O. had nothing to with his star rating. star ratings are as meaningless as they are arbitrary.

Wreckingball

How much of Jaybo Shaw's video have you watched?

looks like wrecknbull is a thinly veiled dawg lurker trying to create unrest among our players to me

I don't think you're a dawggie but clearly you aren't happy with the PJ hire. Maybe you'll lose PT or your job. I don't know. But there are only a handfull (maybe 4 true freshman) that will have any real incentive to transfer. All who have redshirted, or are in their second year of school will screw themselves if they transfer either by losing PT or a year's worth of credits.

So I think you'll see a few transfer in and a few out. We always lose a handful to grades. Nothing too different from the norm, IMO.

BTW, virtually no qb has performed well since George Godsey and that means the last 15 or so signees. So PJ couldn't do any worse with Jaybo...

Wreckingball, anyone to come on here with your attitude and choice of words, it suggests to me that you are a Dawg. Go away or if you really are a fan, then what the heck does your negative b.s. do for our program right now?

He's not a dog, he's just a fuddy duddy who wants to complain because we're moving away from an outdated pro style offense that doesn't achieve results. That said, I don't think anyone's postcount directly correlates to their relevance in a conversation.

The thing that impresses me about Jaybo isn't necessarily his stats, it's that PJ landed him after a whopping day of recruiting, and he was already committed to another school. And that we seriously need Nesbitt-backup for next year, and it's the first thing we got.

Somehow I doubt Jaybo Shaw is the 2nd coming of Hamilton, nor do I think landing him will have a huge impact 4 years from now, since I fully expect PJ to land even better dual threat QB recruits in the future. But seeing how PJ swept in, identified a need, and landed a dude who can clearly, solidly, fill that need even as a freshman, is a very, very positive sign.

Regarding existing players leaving, if a Tech player, particularly a wide receiver, is going to leave due to a coaching change he needs to take a hard long look at how many plays he failed to make last year for Chan, that may have been somewhat responsible for the change.

At 8 or 9 wins, or at a win over UGA, Chan doesn't get fired.

what does your positive bs do for the program either?

the guy can post whatever he wants, it's a message board

but to think that his negative posts carry weight, would be thinking that someone's positive posts carry weight

doesn't have anything to do with what happens on Saturdays, the sooner you learn that the better

Beej -

You are aware that Jaybo Shaw was being recruited before CPJ was hired, and in fact was first offered a scholarship by Gailey after the UGA game, right? He was waiting to see if the offer was still good after Gailey was fired.

I mean, I give CPJ credit for confirming the offer, but it's not like he swooped in and got someone who wasn't previously being recruited. And, GT should be a better opportunity than MTSU.

Of course, a few years ago there would have been widespread derision that we were competing with MTSU and Air Force for recruits.

Jaybo is now one of Georgia Tech's highest rated commits for 2008 according to Rivals. He is also higher rated than Renfree and Threat for the position that he will be playing.

I'd call a verbal commitment to another school pretty definitive evidence that he wasn't being actively recruited. He'd previously expressed an interest in GT.

Sorry this is kind of off topic but... WHAT KIND OF NAME IS JAYBO!!!
