Nope, he'll be a senior next year and get his scholarship back assuming he gets the grades in the spring. If he is not eligable for the OB, where does he then stand as regards the spring, fall, or rest of his career?
Any correlation?

Sorry for not totally understanding but, how could he play in OB if we are still assuming he will have to make his grades in the spring?
Is it based on each individual semester in his case?
Or are you strictly talking about his ship, not his eligibility to play?
To get his eligibility back, he needs to do whatever academically necessary right now.Sorry for not totally understanding but, how could he play in OB if we are still assuming he will have to make his grades in the spring?

I'm all for guys pushing through adversity, but I don't understand the conviction that putting JHD back on the field is a major improvement. Why are people so convinced that a guy who lost his starting position will excel at one in which he's never played?
He was starting until he failed to make grades, right?
Yes, it's a new position for him, but he was (initially) moved in the same way JA was, and that worked well for us.

Citing a coach or player saying he's "blowing it up" in practice is not going to convince me. I've heard that song a million times only to see the guy flop come game time.
The chatter hasn't been that he's been blowing it up on scout team. The chatter is that he's the best defensive player on the team regardless of position.
Don't think so. I believe he lost it towards the tail end of one season and then they moved him to DL the following spring.
He moved to DE when Roof made the call to run more of a 4-2-5, where he wouldn't really fit in as a linebacker. Now, at 270+ he has the size, strength, and quickness to be special on the DL (which we could most definitely use).
If that's what he's become in the last year, then great. He certainly wasn't that before his academic issues hit. Like I said, I'll believe it when I see it. Worst-to-first is rare.
