I know it sounds crazy but let's see - Live in Coral Gables or Oxford Mississippi. I like Mississippi but I don't want to live there and Coral Gables doesn't sound half bad to put up residency.
Then you've never been to Oxford Ms. I'd live there for half of what is offered at Miami to avoid that hell hole of Coral Gables

What was his buyout at USC? I don’t think he is looking at house under a million.

A $4 million place in Miami is an investment. In Oxford, it is either a couple hundred acres or an albatross.

I know because I heard it mentioned on a podcast. Strange to think knowing that fact is weird.

Miami still had tons of boosters and the support through the academic side has changed. Miami will likely be different in a few years, money wise.

Hilarious to bring up fat people in Florida when comparing against Mississippi, the fattest state in the country (if we exclude whatever state your mom is in)
Go to little Havana sometime. It ain't all hot latinas.

Oxford isn't actually a bad place. You can live like a damn king near Oxford for what a 1 BR 1 BA condo costs in any decent part of Miami.

There are no $4 million places for sale in Oxford when I searched. A $4 million house in Miami may be across the street from the beach or a block away. You're looking $10 million + to live on the water in a home in Miami, unless you are squeezed into a canal

Miami doesnt have to play AL, Au, MSU, LSU, and Texas A&M everyyear PLUS more....Its still Ole Miss.

Are you not watching? He just got there and is 8-2 overall, 4-2 in conference and 2nd to Bama in the SEC west. AT OLE MISS! Dude can coach and he obviously isn’t scared to coach against the big boys. What I like about Kiffen is he isn’t the traditional coach who is playing the game. He’s already been thru the gauntlet because he was hired at Tennessee so young. He’s had fans hate him, admins hate him, the press totally against him, yet he kept his head down and kept moving forward. He is basically at the point most coaches don’t get to until their 60’s which is- he can be himself and comfortable in his own skin. He’s already been there done that by age 46. We see this with older guys like Saban, Leech, CPJ, Beamer, Spurrier who could just sit back and be honest because they have no one to appease anymore. That’s Kiffin right now at 46. He can just coach because he could care less what fans, his AD, the press, or anyone thinks about him. It‘s a great place to be. He’s gonna get players because kids see him as cool AND he has results.

Oxford is probably one of the most beautiful and nicest places to live

He will use this to get more money out of Ole Miss, imo. Miami is a cleaner shot to the playoff, but I think Kiffin uses the Mullen route and bides his time until Saban is forced out like Bobby B was.

To me, if Saban retires in the next 3-5 seasons and Kiffin doesn't implode as a coach, he is the logical choice for Bama. Dabo is a clown show reliant on coordinators. Not sure what else Dabo brings. Kiffin can design and talk offense

I don’t think Kiffin gets the job unless he wins a natty. Better shot at that from Miami than Ole Miss.

That would count out almost every coach but Dabo and Collins (after next season)

Maybe it's an easier gig with higher upside. Ole Miss is a great FB school but they aren't going to the CFP being in the SEC West in Lane's lifetime. i would imagine many FB coaches would see an easier path to the playoffs going through the ACC Coastal.
This. Ole Miss isn’t gonna win anything in SEC West. ACC Coastal is a clown show every year. Plus Miami can get SEC level recruits easy. If you have a half decent team you can stumble into Charlotte no problem.

Why would anyone want to play in Charlotte?

I don't know of many coaches who would want to take a $2 million + pay cut to move from the SEC to ACC.

How is getting paid less money in a place with a much higher standard of living a better gig? Less than $1 million for a house outside of Oxford gets you a sweet house on a pond with a pool.

Anything near Coral Gables or Miami in that range is a condo or in a sketchy part of town. I did find a boat slip though, if he has a yacht to park there

Miami has much stronger pedigree from the 80s until today. Has a much higher ceiling and I think anyone with much football knowledge would agree.
