Joshua Nesbitt and Andrew Gardner in the GT HoF

Nesbitt is definitely one of GT’s finest. He reminds me of Tebow. If GT needed 3 yards the opposing defense could put 12 defenders on the field and he would still pick up the 1st down.

4th and Nesbitt was the greatest play in the history of American Football, Association Football, and Rugby Football (both Union and League)

Josh nesbitt. Is beyond anyone on this list. Sorry. He is royalty. The rest just should be glad. Moving on

Yep, 4th down conversion when we could have kicked a field goal to tie.
I was smoking ribs during the tailgate before the game and I burned my hand really bad (like blistering, permanent scar tissue, etc) before that game. Of course, I had to tough it out and go to the game. When I finally went to the ER the doctor was going crazy about why it took me so long to get to the hospital. My reason, of course, was "But Doc... It was overtime!" He didn't get it.

What would be that criteria he doesn't meet?
  1. National Player or Coach of the Year
  2. Individual Olympic medal winner
  3. First-team All-America
  4. Member of Olympic medal-winning team
  5. National champion
  6. National record-holder
  7. Second- or third-team All-America
  8. Conference Player or Coach of the Year
  9. First-team all-conference
  10. Multiple second- or third-team all-conference honors
  11. Conference champion
  12. Conference record-holder
  13. Georgia Tech school record-holder (career, season or single-game or event)
  14. First-team Academic All-America
  15. Second- or third-team Academic All-America

He was 2nd Team All-ACC in 2014 per Phil Steele and 3rd team per ACSMA, that could fit #10

Probably means multiple years; not multiple publications in the same year.

He was really hurt by some incredible qb talent in the ACC during his time. Crab Legs prevents him from being 1st team in 2014; Deshaun, Lamar, Trubisky in 2016 kept him from even being 3rd team.

I'm sure that's what it means, just trying to weasel him in as he's very deserving imo.

For sure. Feels like an easy one for special consideration.

QB of Top 10 Team
2 wins vs UGA
Orange Bowl Win
Orange Bowl MVP
Gator Bowl Win
4 wins vs Top 10 teams

Thats a great resume, even without checking one of 15 designated boxes.

Hewitt is actually an interesting case of what Hall of Fame really means. Similar to MVP, I'm not sure it's really clear.

If it's based mainly on accomplishments, then he probably deserves to get in as others have pointed out.

If it's based mainly on "fame", he definitely shouldn't be in, because most Tech fans have a pretty negative view of him due to things going south and then him sticking around so long because it cost so much to fire him. Very few Tech fans think of him as a Tech icon who should be honored among our athletic legends like they do, say, Nesbitt or GoL.

You either go out a hero, or stick around long enough to see yourself become a Hewitt...
