Keion White to the Patriots

That’s a lot of it. The camera is on them the whole night. They don’t always have the timing right for the shot that goes on air.
Yeah, like when they showed that one dad smacking his son’s GF’s gluteus? Not ideal timing at all.

I know Keion is disappointed not to be a first rounder. He should’ve been, but he can make up for it on-field soon.

Pretty sure you might be confusing "everyone in Boston is a major asshole" with "everyone in Boston is racist."

Self described “mass” holes

Congrats to Keion! Forget the expectations that’s a great result.

I thought KC was going to pick him as the last pick in the 1st round. They had met with him the week of the draft. Instead they went with a smaller, slower, less strong guy who still has yet to develop a run stopping game as a DE, same position as KW. He was just a hometown favorite from KC. Their pick was pretty illogical. KW's football IQ is also very high, he's very well spoken and comes from a good family with no off the field distractions. I've spoken with his grandfather several times last season when he sat by me at a few of the GT home games and gave me some great insight on him. I remember when the season started that he said he was going to be amazing now that he was healthy and he lived up to it, especially in the UNC game. He had the last laugh. I'm sure he'll have the last laugh when he makes the final roster cut with the Pats and signs a huge contract in a few years.

I honestly chalked that up to bad production if that’s the same clip I saw right after the pick. Like they played footage of home waiting rather than the reaction to the pick. They showed everyone around him cheering going crazy shortly after though, admittedly, KW still looked somewhat subdued. Maybe they gave them a second take LOL
That reaction was porn for Belichick.

GT players are consistently underrated by NFL draft scouts. Very high performance vs pick ratio. My guess is because our agent and contact pool is so limited. It makes our players cheap.

I know what would help that...get more players drafted. (i.e. better recruiting over time or transfers from the portal) who will perform for us on the field like he did. It's the same 10 or so schools that are targeted for NFL talent. As much as I hate UGAY, the optics when an NFL team picks one player after another from them does look good. Another good reason to hate Philly.

Back to Keion

With that glower, plus the fact that he is huge, the thought of him being nearby and pissed at me for some reason is terrifying.

Based on what? I can’t think of many guys that greatly outperformed their draft position other than Darren Waller, and his situation was unique because he had a drug problem. Most of our drafted players probably perform close to expectations given their draft round.

Maybe if you go back 15 years you can point to Vance Walker, Andrew Gardner, Phillip Wheeler. But that’s been a while.

Probably more true of CPJ’s recruited players. Mason, Waller, Jordan Mason. I think there was a defensive UFA (with the Packers maybe). Even Butker has played better in the pros than he did in college.

Waller, Shaq Mason, Jalen Camp simply by still being on a team, Jordan Mason, Cottrell, McGowan is still with the Commanders, Tariq Carpenter as a 7th rounder on the active roster.

Not sure I would say guys barely hanging on to a roster for 1-3 years were under rated; they are fringe guys that rotate from practice squad to active roster and will be done playing before they turn 26. They get opportunities based on injuries/depth or ability to play STs. Pretty much what you expect from 6/7 rounders and UFAs.

Shaq, maybe a little. He was a 4th round pick, playing like a 2nd. So nothing egregious.

Anyone who makes a roster as a 7th rounder or lower is overachieving relative to their draft position. Most of the 7th round draft picks get cut.

Specialists being the exception.

Is that true? In the last 15 years, 10 of 13 Falcons 7th rounders have played in the NFL. Only 3 never made a roster. Maybe Atlanta is an outlier.
