Patriots DE Keion White's impressive debut no surprise to his former coaches
White, the Patriots' second-round pick, made some noise in his NFL debut in Thursday's preseason game.www.espn.com
He would have gone in the last pick in the first round to the Chiefs if not for a sentimental pick of a hometown boy from K-State who didn't have nearly the production KW had in his Sr year and was smaller and slower. The Draft was in KC. KC had KW come to meet with them the week of the draft. I figured they were going to pick him. I think he'll be starting for the Pats within a few games of the season and will be in position to er-negotiate for a big contract. His size, speed and football IQ are off the charts for his position. NE got a steal. I remember sitting next to his family several games last year at home, his grandfather swore that we hadn't seen anything yet once he emerged healthy from his leg surgery. He was right.
