I don't know about worse - I don't see either of them having any success with the Falcons. The whole team stinks (with exception of Crumpler and the DLine, if they're all healthy).I'm calling it now. Leftwich will be a worse QB than Harrington.
I am not excited at all about this move at all. I heard on the radio yesterday that we were inquiring about JaMarcus Russell. However, I am not sure if it has any teeth or not.
True, but there aren't any linemen out there - it's gonna take time to rebuild the line and Justin Blaylock is a great start. The Falcons can be a great team, but they need to take Vick's salary, subtract Harrington's salary, figure out what the difference of that is, and THROW THAT MUCH MONEY AT OFFENSIVE LINEMEN.
if the Falcons tank, should they start thinking about Matt Ryan instead of Brian Brohm?
I know that's an obstacle but you'd have to use the 1st pick to get Brohm. He's not getting past the top 10. McFadden is a more of an instant impact player than Brohm & close to being one of those "once in a lifetime" talents.Brohm > Ryan for the Falcons, because Brohm was coached by Petrino.
His (Harrington's) only problem is that he holds on to the ball too long which has caused numerous sacks
Actually, they do - Dunn is (nearly) done. Norwood, for all of his speed, is still a project. And that's playing for Detroit too.
Back to the draft, McFadden is clearly the best player, but the Falcons don't need a RB.
You do know that he had one of the lowest sacks per pass attempt ratios of any QB in the NFL prior to joining the Falcons.
That would be nice but the Falcons still made out pretty well with that deal - moving up 2 spots (which, isn't really huge) and getting 2 2nd round draft picks (which is huge). The first pick was used to get Justin Blaylock - the 2nd is the Texans 2nd rounder in the '08 draft.I wouldn't mind seein ol' Matty takin snaps in Atlanta next year.
