Let me make this clear

This one sentence shows your lack of knowledge for 2 reasons. The first reason is because have run our share of plays under center in short yardage situations. There is absolutely no team out there that ALWAYS goes under center at goal lines, other than the 3O teams that NEVER go shotgun. The second reason is because it's already been proven on numerous occasions that running the ball from the shotgun is no more detrimental than running it from under center. But don't let data or facts stand in your way, again.

And now that I think about it, I'll have to go back and check, but I believe when we scored from the goal line, we went under center for 2 plays and failed, then went from the gun on 3rd down and scored.
So if it’s proven, where is this statistic

Dude, no one here owes you an explanation. You should be thankful that posters as knowledgeable as GoGaTech even talk to you.
So in a debate, if you don’t prove anything, nobody is able to take your argument seriously. Unless you’re talking to other people in the same bubble as your own

Only time we should ever think about running shotgun in our own end zone is if we are doing some sort of RPO and we believe the defense would bight hard on the run. Simple fullback dives or QB sneaks are what we need to at least get ur to the 5-10 area where we can run more spread

My patience with you is nearly exhausted. I suspect this is true of other posters as well. Govern yourself accordingly.
I am just wondering, who is deeming these almighty “knowledgeable” ones in the thread. What scale are we stating that these people are not knowledgeable than others.

Write it on a napkin, slip it to Collins. You are a brilliant football mind.

What do you call goal line? That is short yardage. Man you just keep on digging that hole. I guess they threw out all of the data that was from the goal line.
Well let’s see, 3rd and 1 at your own 40 is a lot different than 1st down and 10 at your own 2 is it not? 1) you have less room of error to lose yard, which the shotgun system has more of. 2) you need to gain 10 yards instead of 1. And they call you the knowledgeable one?

I'm not going to dig and find all the data but we've had this discussion here several times before. There is data out there to back it up. Under center, defenses are more prone to load the box and stop short run attempts more than when in shotgun because the defense is typically spread out more to cover more. Sure there may be higher risk of a negative play in the shotgun than under center, but there is also the higher percentage chance to gain more yards. Again you are walking this back and making it sound like we are only talking about backed up at your own goal line. You specifically said both goal lines, which I am talking about. And the reason I outlined for you is they do it because the data shows you have a higher percentage of a positive run out of the gun. Simple as that. I guess you are smarter than every single coach that has ever run a shotgun formation from either goal line.
