What a disappointing day to the GT fan base. I am not sure, but I think I am more disappointed today than I was this time last week if you can imagine that.

I did some research and I have 2 points to make:

1. The 4 teams we have lost to thus far have a combined 37-12 record for a 75.5%

2. Those temas we beat have a combined record of 44-62 which equates to a 41.5% win mark.

We BEAT the teams we should have and we beat 1 team (VT) that we probably should not havebeaten. If you take away the VT wins that would leave us playing a combined schedule of 32-60 mark which is 34.7%.

I like many GT fanse have no pull in our Athletic Department, BUT it is time for CCG to leave The Flats!!!!

This game today is squarely on his shoulders. Not RB, not Nix, not anyone but CCG. RB was horrible, but guess who makes the final decision to play him. You got it - CCG. To make the statement he was going with RB because he was the one who got us here is not good enough. The numbers above prove my point. WHO did RB lead us to victory over that we should nto have beaten except VT. Not one single team.

I say we offer HUGE money to Coach T and our recruiting coordinator, cant remember his name I am too pissed. Everyone else GOES.

More importantly WHO DO WE HIRE?

JEFF TEDFORD(sp) from California.

Want someone who can out points on the board, there is our man.

My hope is the big dollar folks with connections will speak with Rad and help to convince him a change is needed.

GT FOOTBALL 2007!!!

RETURN TO GLORY!!!!!

Amen Brother!

A copy of my note that I sent to Dan just a moment ago.

Dan, as a long time season ticket holder and AT supporter I have to reach out to you after the past month. The offensive production of our team during the last three legitimate games (UNC, UGA and Wake) has bordered on pathetic. During those three games we have less than 700 total yards, 7 turnovers and a measly 2 touchdowns. Reggie Ball is catching a lot of grief in the press and while some of it may be deserved the ultimate accountability lies with the Head Coach. Chan is winless against Georgia and has displayed little ability to coach offense in Division I football. Our offensive statistics have consistency been in the bottom quartile since the arrival of Coach Gailey. I would urge you to consider a coaching change which would send the message that we do not settle for mediocrity a Georgia Tech and demand excellence from our programs.

Chan Gailey ..... a good man ....... an average coach ...........

WE WANT TEDFORD

Everyone should write him. But he is a happy to go 7-5 every year and go to the Nut Bowl. Thats the facts, so I doubt there is anything we can do.

Doubt he is happy with it. Braine maybe, but not DRAD. Think coming from LSU instills a happiness with average? Write him and let him know how you really feel.

Great post RM2. That was very well put.

I find it odd how people want coaches that are already at programs that are at or above Tech's stature in the college football world at this point. Why would Tedford leave Cal for Tech folks? I love Tech too. I have a major amount of pride putting Tech on my resume. But come on...

RM-2,
Any idea of what he is getting paid now?
Any idea of what GT would be willing to pay to get him?

We need to offer megabucks to Whisenhunt - A brilliant offensive mind and a Tech alum.

Nix has gotta go, regardless. Think he'll still get an offer from Tulane after today's game?

Oh noooo Beej, is Tulane hurting THAT bad?

Surely not.

I hate to say it, but this is not the year to fire the head coach. There is too much of a coaching turnover in the ACC and around the nation this year to be able to get someone of quality. there are a lot of teams out there with better resumes than Tech. However, next year.....

I seriously doubt Tedford is leaving Cal. He's got a pretty good deal out there, and not as much competition. I just don't want to end up like NC State in basketball and get someone that is on our D list.

Even if we end up 9-5, what coach is going to take the job at GT knowing he could go 9-5 and be fired. This is not the year. Chan is in the first year of his contract and the buyout is at its' highest. There are too many factors that would make firing him a horrible decision.

Unless you had brass nads like Rad.

I wouldn't think Tedford would jump from a gravy job at Cal to Tech. What's his incentive? But that's the kind of dude we need or maybe Whisenhunt.

In the meanwhile it's business as usual for Chan and the boys down at the 'athletics' department.

Clarify, whose happy CCG or RAD?

Are We Now Acting Like Bama Fans ...

delusional? We want to fire a guy after winning our divisonal championship? And we throw out the names of people who would have to take a step backward to come to GT. It is laughable to think that Tedford or anyone else with a succesful track record at a BCS school is going to take a step down to come to Tech. Fire Chan and the best you can do for your next candidate will be to attract someone from a coordinator position at a Div 1-AA school.

I doubt that anyone is happy about how the season has ended, but in many ways the body of work was successful. We certainly won more games and finished higher than expected at the beginning of the year. We won the games we were supposed to, and added a VT game we weren't ..... and lost the ones we were supposed to. Wasn't a previous complaint about Chan that we would lose games we weren't supposed to lose? Yet we are going to fire him after he overcomes that obstacle and the team performs as expected.

We would have had 1 win for sure maybe 2 if the coaches would have made a quarterback change in the last 2 games second halves. Bennett deserved a shot in the second half in both games. This is what everybody believes except one or two coaches. How can somebody in Gailey's position be so hard headed and not see this is so. Unbelieveable. Just absolutely unbelieveable.

I got a question for you McWreck, Do you go to practice everyday and see for yourself who should be on the field or do you think the fan base ought to be the one making decisions who should play or not.
Who is everybody, the fan base or the coaching staff?

much as I hate to say it, Whisenhunt is not a great offensive mind. There are few in the entire NFL and he isnt one of them. The NFL playbook is boring--some of the best college minds-ie Spurrier have tried it and failed.

We also have enough game film (about 85 hours) of Reggie for the head coach to know that he is not a D1 gametime quarterback.
Maybe during practice the defense doesn't say mean things to him to get him rattled.

I've heard this several times now. If Chan will send me the damn practice film I will take a look at it and let you know.

Even so, some guys choke and can't take the pressure on game-day no matter how well they practice and the coaches have to recognize that.

So we put somebody else in that maybe less than what we already have, sounds like a plan to me.

My question isn't whether he's a gametime QB or not but if the others are better choices and if the Coaches or the fan base should be making those decisions and I'm really concerned that we don't have a meany coach maybe we could get you to volunteer.
