If you cannot betray a confidence, then I can respect that. But, then there is no reason for the "if you only knew what I know, but just can't tell you" variety of post.

I can certainly understand CG telling reporters that "Ball is the best we've got and no one else is close", but that wouldn't make it necessarily true. What else would he say?
Even if all the others were non athletes, Taylor bennett has proved he can move the offense. He knows plays, he has a fine arm, and he's not afraid to throw the thing to the middle of the field. Shoot, I'd even bet the tight end and Choice/Grant/Cox would be a part of the passing game.
The galling thing is Gailey wouldn't even sit RB for a series or two even when he would be in nuclear meltdown mode.
Who can even try to defend this little bit o' trivia?
The simple fact that all of these other unworthy QB kids got scholarships to transfer should tell most that these guys weren't just working in the grocery store in high school.

This is the only thread I have posted anything concerning the info I had been privy to and I don't think I have posted on any other board.
I did post last year about Info I had recieved on CCG attempt to hire a well known OC, which he did and has been posted on this an other boards by other fonts as well.

Well, about the dumbest decision possible right now is to fire Chan. We'll look NC State basketball after Sendeck left.
- There's plenty of other coaching vacancies, including a couple at schools which are just more attractive than us.
- With the debt from stadium expansion, our AA doesn't have the money for both Chan's buyout and the salary that the new coach would receive, especially if it's one of the coaches who are named so often. We'd have to empty out the Federal Reserve at 10th and Peachtree to get Tedford.
- We would lose much of our current recruiting class. NC State now has five health scholarship players because of Sendeck leaving.
- Chan would have gotten fired because of a 9 win season, losing to schools with 10, 8, 8 and 11 wins.
- GT will never create some easy majors to help with recruiting. GT's first choice in 2001, O'Brien, didn't take the job for precisely that reason.
Fire Nix if you really want to do something. After the ND game, he said STTE "I kept passing when it didn't make any sense. I shouldn't have done that." Nix kept calling passes on first downs, and with the slippery ball and Reggie's accuracy, 1st and 10 too often became 2nd and 10.
Urban Meyer did a lot of the same thing last year. Trying a lot of cute crap that ended up not cutting it against SEC defenses.
We'll see what happens when Nix has one year of experience under his belt, hopefully a developed, tall pocket QB in Taylor and an offense that's practiced around that true QB instead of a poor man's Michael Vick.

I think for those of us without practice privileges or the time to attend practice, we have seen Taylor Bennett play at length against UConn last year and the 2nd half of Duke this year. What we have seen that we like better than Reggie is a shorter drop back, a throw from the pocket, and the ability to lead a receiver who is running a route in stride. He completed passes to Smith and Frierson, I believe, that looked very good and very unlike Reggie's throws.
That does not mean he should start ahead of Ball. There are things about Reggie that I see that he does better than TB. But, when the starter struggles and the offense is not scoring, it is clearly not a dumb idea to try and see if the backup can get something going.
