Looking At History Of GT/UGA Series

I knew he tested that he read on an 8th grade level but that he got to college and all of that changed. Now we can all debate if he should have ever been admitted but that was also years ago now and his story has turned out to be very positive as he’s given back specifically in this area.
So you’re ok with uga letting in illiterate students?

UGA center for kids who can’t read good.

They stripped the ball and ran back 100 yards for a TD

Yep, and I promptly walked upstairs from my basement to get something out of the kitchen and punched a hole in the wall at the top of the stairs -thankfully just missing a stud or I would have probably broken my hand.

A horrible call and 14 point swing. We came right back down the field and scored a TD before half, that’s when I felt we’d overcome and win one for a change.

No that’s not what I meant to imply. As a parent who has a son that attended and graduated from UGA who is now in Medical School, you can trust he reads just fine.

That’s not to say that there aren’t students who may have some sort of learning issue that has their situation handled differently, I don’t know. If your suggesting Athletes because of their ability to run fast, etc., get handled differently to get accepted I’m certain they do. Are any NCAA rules being broken (remember Jan Kemp) I hope not. I fully realize GT people feel all UGA people are low life, redneck, hillbilly, mouth breathing scum. I’m cool with that, you don’t know me and I don’t know you and I’m not that so….

I’ll add 1973 and 1995. In 73 a bogus piling on call cost us the game. The GT def player was coming in for a tackle and saw the UGA player down and dove over the pile and the crooked SEC ref threw a flag. The GT player asked him about it and he said sorry son … I can’t take it back.
The 1995 game that doofus SEC ref that tried to hose us every chance he could called intentional grounding on Donnie Davis that was bull crap. Donnie was throwing the ball out of bounds and made sure he threw over the GT receivers head. He was that tall lanky ref that was horrible.
I’ll throw UGA a bone. They got hosed on the Jasper Sanks fumble but I tell my UGA friends that about 5 or 6 more of thos calls and we’ll be even, especially during the Dooley years.

That 97 game still irks me. Bobo throws that pick and we seal the game...until zebra throws flag for pass INT. BS!

Well, ABC is definitely historically trending again ---noon kickoff for COFH. HATE IT !!!
I actually like it. My 9 y/o can't handle a night game (he's a wreck for days when he doesn't sleep enough and too immature to recognize it) and I can't bring myself to ask my wife to endure what is likely to happen. If it was a night game I would be out.

Do you remember “the night the chain broke”?

I also believe that Tech has beaten a Top 10 UGA team ONCE since maybe sometime during Dodd

I hate you guys cause you cheer for a football team built upon the lie they are students. Your intelligent son sees himself as being represented by the uga players. They are illiterate, and I also hear tell a few of them are rapists. You know all of this and continue to cheer for them.

THATS why I disrespect you.

Every time I think about the series, my mind always goes to the games that should have been ours 1978, 1997, 2004, 2006, 2009, 2013. UGAg always has some dumb luck that seems to come to fruition against us every time.

I would have to add 1983 to the list. If John Dewberry throws the ball two yards further down our sideline toward the end of the game we beat the mutts that year as well. Not his fault, but he needed just a bit more juice on the throw.

There is no UGA fan that knowingly excuses any player that breaks the law, if they do, they have other problems that will eventually catch up to them. UGA is not producing illiterate players and I do not excuse not following ANY NCAA or University requirements for academics. You are slightly right in that as I’m watching UGA play I’m not thinking about what that players GPA is, I’m thinking is he going to make the block or tackle or whatever. I came here to chat football and remember some of the great times I had as a kid growing up going to UGA / GT games it’s that simple. Whatever you say about me personally means nothing. Like I said you don’t know me but I’m not going to disrespect you.

You could really add 2010 and 2015 to this list too. We were in most of the games from 1997 on, up until 2017.

Talk about hosed. I still can't get over the bogus interference call on Tech against Hine Chickenshit Ward that gave them a new set of downs. If that bought and paid for ref had not made that call it was game over. THWG and their dirty in the pocket refs.

Remember it like yesterday. That happened right in front of my face. My dad and I were sitting in the lower west stands, lower section 102 or 103.
