Well, he clearly has no idea that we actually do pass and when we do it's typically downfield or over the top in his vernacular. Also being good against the run doesn't necessarily translate to stopping our option game. ugag, Miss St, Miami, etc., are also good against the run.Well I don't see whats so offbase with this article. I am really nervous about this game because LSU could stuff the run and will probably control the line of scrimmage when we are on O. That means not much for Dwyer and that Josh will have to be sharp on the read and pitch or we will be in for a long night. It will take another error free game (read no turnovers) to win.
Hopefully our defense will keep their subpar O under control.
I think PJ talking about the run and shoot plays is recognition of the reality of the above. I hope we have some passing game because I am afraid we are going to need it.
So basically he has no clue.
Clarity such as this is a gift. How a team plays against the run is no indication as to how they play against the CPJ option.
I'm all for adding wrinkles and what not but I hope we don't vary too far from what allowed us to win 9 games up to this point.I guess this explains the rumors than CPJ is planning some run and shoot plays specifically for this game.
Both UGA and Miami had Top 20 ranked rushing defenses prior to playing us....and we sent them down to Top 60 status afterward!
LSU is 14th...and should expect the same.
