Yeah their ACC hopes are pretty much crushed now oh wait no they're not. There is no silver lining here except maybe seeing the Tar Heels' pain.

It is also better to have win over a disheartened, lower ranked team than to lose to an uber-motivated team. That's why I said win-win. Both are correct.

That's what I'm (now) afraid of. A UNC victory would've given them some sense of accomplishment and they probably wouldn't be as fired up to beat us. Now... Just the opposite.
 
Well gents, I'm off to bed. I really thought UNC was going to pull that one out. Now we need VT to man up or we're in for another year of the media ****ting all over us.
 
Good news is that Al Groh pulled out the Ws over at UVA in the last three years versus UNC so I'm sure Al's got some notes he can pull out.

I think UNC's OC did good job with making adjustments early on when they were getting killed.
 
Yeah, it's bad for us that UNC lost:
* Less chance of good TV coverage.
* Less strength of schedule.
* UNC possibly more fired up.
* Perpetuate SEC-is-better-than-ACC stereotype.

It could also work the opposite. A UNC victory could make them believe in themselves and have more confidence while a lose could make them depressed and flat.

There was a team last season that lost a major game on the road, then went on a bye week before playing in an important home game. That team didn't come out 'fired up with something to prove'. They came out flat and lost to a previously winless in conference play team. That was Virginia Tech last year. It does happen.

It's retarded that UNC is shown as ranked above LSU for obvious reasons. I think if UNC was at full strength, especially on defense, they could have mauled LSU's offense.

I just can't treat this as a ACC-loses-to-SEC type of game just because of the trouble UNC is in.
 
We can beat UNC whether they come out patty-cake-happy or not, i don't give a **** if they're so excited they have to hand out raincoats on the bus, we can beat their asses anyway, and I'm glad they lost, **** em
 
a) This was NOT an "SEC-is-better-than-ACC" loss. Every SEC fan that I know is acknowledging this.
b) We are still going to beat UNC at their stadium. Them losing does not equate to them being more hyped up for their next game.
 
ESPN's front page declares:

"Patrick Peterson and LSU started strong then had to hold off a fiesty UNC squad."

That feisty little ACC, nibbling at the SEC's heels again.

Its like cornering a beat dog. Eventually you will get bit. No one wants to start the season 0-2.

That is berserk.

UNC really did get like a million chances to win that. +2 in the turnover margin. 34:19 TOP. 133 more yards than LSU.

I am officially no longer a UNC doubter.
