Marco and Michigan State

There you go. You had a typo.
I'm a Spartan for life, but MSU football is B+ at best. Our own alumni wouldn't make lateral moves to them if we had a program that was even the slightest bit healthy. Coleman is from Ohio, so maybe that has something to do with it, but holy öööö.

I'm in my mid-20's and old enough to remember when Tech football was more prestigious than MSU.
The turn of the century at the end of O’Leary’s tenure were were better. I’d hardly call those years prestigous, but ok. Dantonio had them in the national championship hunt 3 years in a row, I thinked ranked final Top 5 all 3 years, they won 10 or more games about a half dozen times In your lifetime. You are referring to Michigan St and not Mississippi St, correct?

It's kind of cute that you're underestimating Tech's brand as much as you are. Michigan State's football prestige was beaten into the ööööing ground until Dantonio performed his resurrection that didn't fully blossom until the early-mid 2010's. We were deadass Minnesota/Illinois/NC State-tier before that.

Georgia Tech had a much stronger football brand than MSU did in the 00's up until the recent CFB paradigm shift. I am telling you: it is outrageous for Michigan State to be poaching coaches from us in lateral moves. It is 100% unacceptable.

Dude, our AD put some of the öööötiest turf I've ever seen on the field to pinch pennies and whore BDS out as a venue. Unless donors do something then this series of events is the new norm. Exceptional alum assistants coming here are temporary gestures out of respect if we don't pay them the going rate to stay.

You’re right we have this amazingly wonderful brand & players/coaches are beating down the door to join the G*C* regime. When you were 2 year’s old, you were so smart and such a great fan you saw all kinds of things myself & the rest of the nation didn't see. Actually, I don’t want to see all the awesome things happening to our program & you do. Congrats!

I was in high school and it was 2009. God GT fans are ööööing stupid. Only a retard GT fan would be arrogant and rock-headed enough to underestimate GT's football brand in the recent past.

It wasn't that long ago. People would generally expect that Georgia Tech would be solid and have some good players. But I guess we're at the point where we should thank our lucky stars for 3-9 seasons and not being able to retain our starters? I can't tell what the öööö you dorks want, besides Geoff Collins being the coach? What a ööööing weird fanbase, I swear to God.

MSU is playing the game of spending öööö you money to improve their program.

Meanwhile, our fanbase is inventing coping mechanisms on the daily.

Bummer, I liked Marco and Choice, how in the world do we lose our best asst coaches but keep our worst. I mean Coach Key and Thacker should have been given their walking papers after the season.

We lose our best coaches because other programs want them

We don’t lose our worst coaches because no other programs want them and we can’t afford to fire anyone

I think Coleman was one of our lowest paid assistants. Something like 250k. He will probably double that.

ME? A COLLINS FANBOY?

SIR!

I LEAD the ööööing Paul Johnson bandwagon. I want Jeff Monken to be our coach. I think only stupid rednecks ever bought the Collins sales pitch and I was opposed to him from Day 1.

But Georgia Tech had a strong football brand in the 00's. Didn't always deliver, but I remember when Calvin Johnson being at GT was an 'oh, of course, they always have some top guys' kind of thing. Whereas now it's a novelty if we have one guy who would start on a top-half SEC team. The brand is there, but it has no stewards. The 2011 EA Sports NCAA Football game prominently featured Tech in the intro that played every time you booted up the game. It's all there. We have the chuck roast, the carrots, the Russet potatoes, the beans, the red onions. Who's going to turn on the Crock Pot?

Supposedly will be confirmed later this week

Why wait? Grab a Snickers.

Damn shame Tech hasn’t cared about paying assistants enough to keep any from lateral transfers. Even CPJ lost most to head coaching gigs. Tech is redefining the bottom of the barrel.

Sorry, your posts came off as the standard G*C* cheerleader girl, 404, elite, dancing, big time football, rah rah rah bullshit that has driven us into the ditch.

“We’ll be getting a national championship pretty soon,” Coleman said in September 2020 on Collins’ radio show. “Because of the way coach Collins has us working, iron sharpens iron.”

Man, these guys really bought into the snake oil. I’d LOVE to hear what they were really thinking during the last couple of games of 2021.

It's sad that genuine respect of the Georgia Tech brand has been conflated with Collins' snake oil
