CPJ is entering his sunset. It’s just a matter of how long you want to delay the inevitable.

About here, you’re probably expecting something along the lines of, “Once again, Paul Johnson being Paul Johnson wound up hurting his team.” Really, though, this coach could have tried anything – and he tried about everything; Tech went for it on fourth down three times in the first half, six all told – without making an iota of a difference. His Yellow Jackets lost 45-21 in a game that never seemed close.

The result was no shock. A 16-point favorite won by 24 and could have won by 40 had it been so inclined. What was slightly surprising was that Tech, for the first time under Johnson, looked beaten from the start.

Mf that pos. Can’t remember the last time I went to ajc’s website.

I don’t like him either, but Bradley got this one right. CPJ looked beat and desperate early in this game.

Need to make a business decision with his future.

Him saying multiple times this year we have a very narrow path to victory each week speaks to what you’re saying.

CPJ’s face in the postgame looked like he just found out his mama died before he walked into the press room. I’ve never seen him look so beat... to Bradley’s point it wasn’t for a lack of trying.

Look at CPJ. He's trimmed down and probably is down to a 3 handicap on the links. Just like when your wife is getting ready to be your ex-wife. Except for the 3 handicap.
It's probably my 3 that is the handicap

We have looked beaten from the start the last 3 years vs Clemson. What Tech team is Bradly watching?

When are we gonna get over the illusion that we are in the same class as the UGAs or Clemsons or even half the SEC teams? Until we get the 4 & 5 stars, we can continue to expect to get trounced by these afore mentioned teams. I've bought into the CPJ offense, but it's time to try someone else.

Half of sec teams? Stfu

All the more reason to get ahead of CPJ’s departure and make a good coaching decision

The thing about Paul’s offense is that it is awesome when it is run against equals. That is why it worked so well at Southern. They were playing peer athletes and he was out scheming them.

The problem is at this level, games are won or lost on recruiting and we are clearly losing there due in large part to Paul’s offense. Every now and then we surprise someone and beat superior athletes, but we also stand a better than equal chance of getting completely outmanned like we did today. That is going to happen more often than not at this level.

This is wrong. We have beaten ‘more talented’ teams with the 3o. But, we have built Duke by running the 3o. Vad was our last big win against them recruiting. Cut is picking up playmakers on offense that would have typically come here.

I think it's fascinating that some people think it's precisely because we can't get great recruits that we need to use the triple option, and other think that its because we use the triple option that we can't get great recruits.

I do remember enough about GT history to know we've never gotten great recruits – like dating back to before WW2. Coach Alec complained about it, Coach Dodd complained about it, it was one of the reasons we left the SEC 50 years ago. That doesn't mean it can't get better, and maybe the triple option is a deadweight. But if recruiting is the problem, we (and by we I mean posters on ST) sure need to stop being condescending about dumb athletes and waterslides.

I for one welcome any and all academic changes needed to make GT more competitive in football. It's a very small tail that will never wag an enormously large dog.
