Mark Bradley's Take on CGC

There is no real reason for Tennessee to be still wandering the desert 20 years after they dumped Fulmer.

That was the single biggest idiotic move a school could have ever made.

GO JACKETS!!

Yep....I've never been able to understand what has been going on in Knoxville for the last couple decades. The East just sat there ripe for the taking and no one up there was able to get it together. Living in Dalton we have lots of uga fans and lots of UT fans (that I assume have just been dormant) and my life was quieter and more peaceful when Tennessee was good.

Hey Bark Madley! Don't forget to not kill yourself!

Blah blah blah we shouldn't ever expect to be consistently good.

Blah blah blah Paul Johnson is probably the best we can do

Looking forward to the day this clown writes something insightful.

I hope Bark Madly knows not to go kill himself.

He's right that Tech is a great academic school, where recruiting will always be a challenge. But, it seems to me like he's missing a more colorful story. Even though Georgia has no academic impediments to interfere with recruiting, the last team from this state to win a national championship in football was wearing white and gold, not red and black.

Me neither. I know what is says without opening it. Butch Jones had energy. Geoff Collins has energy. Therefore Butch Jones = Geoff Collins

I bet Bradley didn't take two ööööing seconds to analyze the backgrounds of the two coaches. Jones is a northerner. Had no connections anywhere in the south. Had coached and recruited in places like Michigan.

Collins is a southerner. Stops at Alabama, Florida, Mississippi State. He has connections Jones did not have

Spoiler alert... He mentions the high water mark of our 2007 recruiting class without even noting that Collins was the architect of that class. He also doesn't note that Collins has been at Tech twice before. it's that quality of investigative journalism and background research that has landed the AJC where it is now.

I'm sure he just wrote the article seeing the energy that CGC has brought to the program and was like "how can I be a dickhead towards Tech?". No research at all, I'm certain. Just a quick article to reinforce to his mutt base that they are his beloved. Otherwise, why mention Tennessee?

I bet he didn’t take longer than 20 minutes to write the entire article.

I usually don’t mind Mark’s articles but this one was pretty thoughtless.
Yup there is no information in the article, new or old. It's like he was reading a thread on SECrant that compared CGC to bitch Jones and was like, "yeah, that works for an article" and hammered it out in 15 minutes while drinking white claws.

It's sad that people making this comparison miss one big thing (the northerner recruiting in the south as mentioned above is def a good point too), but Collins has changed the brand and perception of our program completely. Butch Jones didn't have to do that. Tennessee for the most part, recruits itself and maintains a prominent brand (although it is slipping). Add that with prior connections in Atlanta and tech and ol Bark Madley illustrates how poor of a journalist he is.

Like others, my first thought was he was on a 3 day bender and once he sobered up he had 20 minutes to write an article. The AJC should be embarrassed but I don't think that is possible.

No one with an IQ over 80 would think Butch Jones and Collins are alike, if they spend anytime around them at all. We found out that Jones was a dick and the players didn't actually like him at all. If Collins is faking that part, then he is a psychopathic genius.

Well, blue and gold, but ok.

Mediocre troll job at best, as others have said no research and no insight just somebody with a laptop and a deadline.
