Mark Richt has dominated Paul Johnson

For starters, not let Miami rattle off 6 straight bubble screens by pushing up our DBs. If we are loading the box to take away the read option run then let's trust our DBs to handle some bump coverage for 3 seconds and rely on our loaded box to generate some pressure.

If I could like this more than once, I would.

8 yds a hit on bubble screens was not taking care of business. Their QB had been erratic most of the night for gods sake.

The 4th and 10 was a GT-ism that will be remembered for a long time. I grant that. But damn. Run the horse your bring and if you get beat deep at least there is some time on the clock

Yes, everyone agrees this was a bad drive for Roof. It does not change the fact that Diaz shut down everything Johnson had on offense in the 2nd half. Miami had 2x the offensive output as us and only 2 more points. That’s not on Roof.

I got an even better idea. Tell the offense to get a few first downs. The 3-O is supposed to stand for Triple Option, not 3&Out. The offense completely shat the entire second half and you guys are focused on the bubble screens.

Time on the clock for what exactly? Defense and special teams had already put the offense in great field position more than once and the O did squat.

Those bubble screens were RPOs. Miami got the ball with over 2 minutes and 3 timeouts and to that point had done far more in the run game than the pass game. In hind sight Roof should have called your defense that stops everything. Actually every D coordinator should call the stuff that stops everything. Why aren't you a DC? I'm sure Roof makes more than you. You should take his job.

Give me a break. I forgot they selected unstoppable play for an 8 yd gain

Allow me to edit: SIX TIMES IN A ROW.

Our O might have gotten shut down in the 2nd Half, but none of our playcalls were as boneheaded as our failure to adjust to their bubble screens. I blame Johnson too because he should've overridden Roof, called a timeout, and gotten some guys up on the line.

So you're admitting that nothing could be done? We were fated to just take it? Kthxbai

Uhhh, you are calling him out for his play calling. I am asking you what he should have called. "stop the offense" isn't a defensive play call.

You could argue that after the first time or two, our guys just needed to beat blocks. But when they've done it 3 times in a row successfully, you have to adjust. We didn't adjust! It's indefensible. That series alone didn't lose us the game, but it was the dumbest coaching of the game, exceeding even Richt's onside kick.

Look at what I posted earlier. Take a risk. Play them tight. Do something in response. Don't take 6 of the same plays in a row eating your lunch.

Move the inside corners up close on their receivers and roll the linebackers out wider. Anything would have been better than doing nothing.

Pretty positive we did move the corners up; just not as soon you would have liked. Even the tv commentators mention the change.

Right, it was only after like the 5th time they ran it, which is nuts.
