The Maryland loss is similar to our loss at BYU and the Wake Forest loss last year to the same team that beat the Terps.Why schedule games with capable non-conference opponents away from home? With consistent success a school needs rigorous non-conference scheduling for poll and BCS rankings and national television exposure. Other schools are better off with an easy non-conference schedule if they play in a BCS conference. Give this Tech team a different non-conference schedule with three easy opponents plus UGA and they could build enough momentum early and perhaps win four conference games. That leads to 8-4, a bowl, and everyone far more satisfied than starting 0-2 with tough non-conference games including a trip to Provo and Auburn at home.
