Matthew Jordan

I agree with everything except your first sentence. TM has like 5 long touchdown runs this year, some of which he pretty clearly outran defenders. Justin Thomas DID have 4.3 speed and he didn't finish long runs like TM has.

He was horrible yesterday, but he's been really good as a runner for most of the season. TBH, I'm much more concerned about his passing ability.

He's a runner playing QB. I honestly think he forgets that he can throw the ball away instead of taking a sack.

Oh and the O-line should stop with that cut blocking BS. They were useless against Clemson's D-line.

Also the Clemson defenders were just gashing the wide splits.

Those were two adjustments that should have been made after the first quarter.

Also what's the deal with the O-linemen blocking the guy diagonal from them and letting the guy in front of them have a free run to the QB/mesh point?

Makes no sense.

Holy shit. I just had Deja Vous on this post. Seems like we had this discussion years ago.

Yall acting like we never played in the rain or it was only us playing in the rain. STFU about the goddamn rain. Dumbest excuse i've ever seen.
It the offense cannot be played in inclement weather and there is no backup plan, that is a problem.

Had nothing to do with weather. Clemson was superior defensively, man for man, to our offense. I just was disappointed at the poor reads. We left yards on the field. We may not have won the game, but we should have had more first downs and yardage than what we had.

The biggest gripe I've had with TM all year is he thinks he has 4.3 speed when he really has 4.7 speed.
This is a common problem with our A-backs — and with college runners in general. How often do they see a tackler coming, *stop themselves*, attempt to change direction, and get tackled. If they'd learn that they can't get away, and rather to use their momentum against the tackler, it'd be easier on them physically and they'd pick up an extra yard or two.

Watching our runners stop themselves before getting tackled is one of my biggest pet peeves these days during games.

Running downhill often seems to be a lost art.

They all watched Deion Sanders do that as kids and try to do the same thing. They don't have his ability though.

The weather probably had a bigger impact on our quickness than Clemson's speed; but yeah, the bigger problem was their defense was both big and fast.

The offensive line actually held their own better than people give them credit for because the bad reads made the OL look horrible. If the OL played as horrible as everyone thinks Benson and Jordan wouldn't have gotten the yards they did.

Newsflash cincy....Auburn has normal splits, drive blocks vs cuts, and highly recruited linemen....and yet Clemson sacked their QB ELEVEN damn times with several hurries thrown in too. Our technique is largely responsible for our success the last 9 years. It's not the OL technique, it's the soon to be NFL DL from Clemson. Ask Saban.
If only CPJ had a direct line to you during games, we'd be world beaters, huh?

The biggest gripe I've had with TM all year is he thinks he has 4.3 speed when he really has 4.7 speed. He often runs backwards and makes a bad play into a drive killer. I also think he makes way too many misreads, and misses the early pitch, especially. Look how much our AB touches are down this year. We have home run hitters at AB (other than Cottrell, why is that guy in the rotation?), so give them a chance to make plays. All of my gripes really show up against the most talented teams where TM really gets tunnel vision on his reads.
Presumably Cottrell can block?

I don’t think the 19 year old guys on our team watched Deion Sanders do anything but talk about NFL games on pregame shows.
