UM tolerated a lot of misbehavior over the years. You typically do not do that unless you’re doing it yourself. It all dogpiled on him & he got what he had coming.Agreed. Apparently some people want to argue you gotta be Coach Mr Rogers or you are a neanderthal. CPJ and a ööööload of others (and a lot of employees we have worked with IRL) have showed you can be a dickhead and get away with it if you win, but that'll come back to bite you if you aren't clearly valuable.
I do want to add this kicker öööö seems so nothingburger I can't believe the "I woulda kicked his ass and in doing so would have walked away from the NFL" because nobody would hire a kicker that assaults a coach, even if provoked to. Which also makes me think of the Bill Burr bit about Rihanna and Chris Brown in the elevator where he points out that its unlikely Chris just snapped out of nowhere. I have a strong feeling this kicker is a real piece of work and that while you shouldn't kick anyone anytime, I can't help think this wasnt an out-of-the-blue incident.
Now THAT would have been "interesting"--LOL.

Well, MAYBE later he would be receptive to an "offer" to coach elsewhere to rebuild his "reputation"--MAYBE here on the cheap? That's funny, I had a similar but opposite reaction. I agree normally something like this would never get brought up in public, but my reaction was to think that Urban must be a real piece of work to piss a kicker off enough to risk his reputation by going public with this.
And I think it's telling that no players or coaches have stepped up to defend him -- it's actually been the opposite, with lots of stories about players hating him coming out after the kick thing went public. I haven't seen a single public word of support from anyone in football. Only his daughter is stepping up and saying he's a good person who the world is trying to destroy.
No.Well, MAYBE late he would be receptive to an "offer" to coach elsewhere to rebuild his "reputation"--MAYBE here on the cheap?

57 is not old for a coach. He’s pretty damn old now though
Dang you missed my ninja edit57 is not old for a coach.
Not only GT would hire him, but also any team in the country would hire him. It doesn't guarantee success, but we are talking championships at two different schools.
He ain't coming here.Would love for #4 natty to be here, and in 3 different conferences. Talk about a legacy!--but this is just pipe dream wishing., don't think he'd ever consider GT.
He also went unbeaten in his first season at Ohio State, but they were on a postseason ban because of the previous administration. He would come here if we paid him enough. I’d pony up for it. He should have had a shot at another title while at Utah in 2004.
I don’t know that he wants to spend the same amount of energy coaching as he used to though.
Georgia Tech would not hire him nor would any other university with the possible exception of Liberty. He is a washed up has been creep who will slink off into his creepy world and live off of the millions he has made.57 is not old for a coach.
