Mich players speaking out

That's the karma you get for building up your alma mater to the edge of powerhouse then leaving it for a old big name school that was offering you less money to go there.
Yep.

Keep in mind the economic ramifications of Michigan football. When Michigan does poorly, the world economy does poorly. Folks, we need Michigan to return quickly to normalcy. ;)

It would not suprise me if they lost their opener to Western Michigan.

Western Michigan is favored to win their conference I believe. Their quarterback is supposedly NFL calibur. The stars might just be aligning for WM.

about violations also some former players agreeing thats how things went on. 10am-10pm days on sundays thats insane.

This could possibly be not as much there as people want think there is.

All these kids probably don't know what's allowed, what's not allowed. The key is the participation by the coaches that are and are not allowed to supervise.

This all reminds me of Bud Carson. When he died in 2005, a number of former players on the Hive posted that he was loathed by the players as a slave driver. There's tough, like Paul Johnson, and then there's slave driver. This included practicing 40 hours a week during finals week, among other things. It apparently all culminated in a mutiny during the half time of the Sun Bowl, IIRC.

I'm sure all programs, including us, push the envelope on practice time. Clemson just got hit for putting players in pads too early. But 11 hours of practice in one day is insane, and Michigan hasn't even gotten anything to show for it.

Peach Bowl against Ole Miss? We won the Sun Bowl.

All teams probably violate this rule to some degree. After all, it is hard to quantify "voluntary".

Disagree.
I played a little D2 college ball and even at that level EVERYTHING is scheduled down to the minute. We had a very detailed schedule posted in the locker room that listed every activity/practice from Sunday afternoon meetings to the bus arriving back home after a Saturday game. The schedule was never varied from by more than a few minutes. The coaches know the rules and maximize every minute of practice/meeting time. Even at a D2 school where the NCAA would probably never give a second look, the coaches and football staff were very cognicant of the rules and made sure to always be compliant.

Now I am sure that every school has rules violations at some time or another (GT for instance). However, there is no excuse for violating practice time rules. It is about as black and white as it gets. I highly doubt UM could pull any "misinterpretation of the rules" BS.

I love it. I hate the Big10(11) more than any conference in football. Every year overrated and every year, their "champion" is destroyed by Southern Cal dating back to the dawn of time.

I was thinking about football...and then I saw Beestorm's avatar. Now I'm thinking about something else...

just a reminder that in your user control panel you have the option to turn off avatar displays in case you are having evil thoughts.:laugher:
