Mike Leach

I would enjoy the entertainment value of Leach being interviewed by the Atlanta media, but I can't stop picturing him running his offense with a Reggie Ball at QB.

I don’t get the fascination with Leach. I recognize he has become the avant-garde of college football, but do not see how he is going to make us better. I watched the WSU vs. UW game and the cougars couldn’t stop an off-tackle dive more less Clemson’s RPO.

It would make for some entertaining media, but that would get very stale if we are not winning.

Because he has made doormats into contenders twice.

We are better than the doormats he worked miracles on.

Did Leach predate Blazer at Valdosta State? If not, maybe he could shed some light on how he was as a coach. Does anyone keep in contact with our 2nd favorite punter (Presley Harvin being first)?

What has he actually won? I truly don’t know. And why will his quirky style work better than CPJ’s?

1. He finished first at places that never finished first before or since.

2. Because CPJ's problems started when his offense became common enough that teams could schedule practice games against teams running it.

Had this have happened last year, we probably could get him. WSU wont be letting anyone take him after the season they've had though

Texas Tech and WSU are not the easiest schools to recruit for either, although both can get dumb players. Leach would recruit better than CPJ, field a better defense, and still bring an atypical offense that is hard to defend, relies on execution, and kids will want to play for it.

The recruiting rankings for the past few years at Wazzu don't support your statement.

That, and the city of Atlanta is an athlete draw. Washington State University is literally in the middle of nowhere

Washington State is in nowhere; but Atlanta ain't no athlete draw.

You guys want to go from the grumpy savant head coach to the idiot savant head coach?

Not the opposite at all. He's arrogant, stubborn, runs a weird offense that hinders recruiting to some degree, and doesn't give a öööö what you think about it. It just so happens that he passes a lot instead of running a lot. Dumbass Texas Tech fans ran him out of Lubbock just like some GT fans wanted to do to Paul Johnson here for pretty much all of the same reasons. Unbalanced offense, hard to recruit, curmudgeonly personality, elite seasons a rarity amongst relative mediocrity, etc.

TBH I just want to see this at GT:

Well, I agree it was probably pretextual, but Leach left TTU under very different circumstances than CPJ is leaving here. Like, wildly different. No doubt he left behind a divided fanbase, though. Everybody not named Saban does that.

Everything gets stale if you are not winning. Everything.
