The lesson here is to teach your daughter not to put herself in this situation to begin with. I'm not excusing Tarrant, but when my daughter gets older (she's only 3), I'll sit her down and explain how simply us men think. If you drank enough to impair your judgement, went up to a college man's room, and voluntarily took part in the foreplay, he probably expects more. The solution is easy, don't put yourself in this position, only bad things can happen.

I got in trouble in high school for being in a car where some illegal activity was taking place. Fortunately, the DA let me slide, but not any of the others. His warning to me was exactly that. When it starts getting out of hand, get out. A friend of mine is alive today because he got out of the car about 5 minutes before the other two were killed when they hit a truck at 60mph in a residential neighborhood.

But honestly the second a women says to stop is the second rape begins. If there is ever sexual contact of any type that is against the women's will it is rape. So if she said stop, but he kept on going to the point where she had an orgasm, but was till saying "stop" then it was technically rape.

But that's where everything greys because as a married man, half of the time my wife and I copulate, it begins with "not right now honey, I'm tired" and eventually turns into "dont stop" so who really knows what the hell a woman really wants. It's bunch of confusing mess and it's likely that he thought "she seems to be enjoying it so until she physically stops me im going to keep going". But the problem is she still said "no".

Let's put it this way... Being the man sucks in those situations!

All that's great but a man shouldn't be subjected to a minimum 10 years in prison for this.

Well it's for darn sure I don't. Been married close to a half century and haven't figured that one out. Generally speaking, however, it is usually the exact opposite of what she says...unless I base my choice on that presumption. Regardless, I will always choose wrong.
 
This whole thing is ridiculous! Both of them are young kids, drinking, and made bad decisions. It happens every day, millions of times. She was not penetrated, never lost her virginity, if she still has it. No harm, no foul. She filed charges HOURS after the fact, probably when her girl friend(s) scared her by saying her boy friend would find out. Another bad decision. No reason whatsoever to give either of these kids a blemish on their record. I am from the area that Tarrant is from and he is a great kid, believe me.

E-mails I have received and comments I have seen posted on other Web sites make it clear that my article posted Tuesday evening about the rape allegations against Georgia Tech football player Jerrard Tarrant left people with an incomplete idea of what the woman said happened that night. I thought the rape charge and her friends’ statements that she said, “I was raped,” made it clear that she alleged intercourse had taken place, and I omitted a specific description of that allegation. Here is a small part of that description:
“As [the forced intercourse occurred], I continuously asked him to please stop. He eventually did stop. He did not put on a condom. He asked me, ‘Why are you running from me?’ as I pushed my hips away from him. I tried to push him off of me but he was stronger than me.”
Tarrant denied to police that intercourse took place, and two of his teammates told police he told them there had been oral sex but no intercourse. There was no male DNA found in the rape kit and no semen found on the woman’s panties, according to two GBI reports. A doctor’s examination found vaginal bruising.
