Agreed. Do you guys think this is the first time this has happened at a school? It is about the millionth time!! Rad is probably leaving for LSU anyway come next summer. The only reason everyone is so hot is that we seem to know about it. Before the days of message boards this stuff would go on and no one would know about it.

So why are we interviewing Joker Phillips? The old guard wouldn't go for Muschamp but they would go for Joker Phillips? Come on! Hire PJ and be done with it!!!

there wasn't a misunderstanding.

That is kinda ridiculous if that is in fact what happened.
 
Settle down fellow fanatics.

1. At the very least, the guy who wrote the $4 million to buy out CG has a little input.

2. Rad has a boss, just like most of us. We don't always get our way, and it is unprofessional to allow our ego to freak out every time our boss overrules us.

3. Rad had a chance to 'sell' Muschamp and whoever Muschamp had lined up. He didn't 'sell' well enough.

4. We can whine about small time athletics, but it is guys like the guy who wrote the check for $4M that keep us from being Northwestern. So take the good with the bad, or write your own $4M checks.
 
Gosh, heaven forbid a vetting committee does their job.
 
A couple posters on The Hive have repeatedly said that the Board hasn't even met yet.

Truth is this whole thing could be a total misunderstanding.

Clough rules the Board. It doesn't need to meet for Clough to tell Radakovich to dump the candidate that he has been working with for weeks. Clough said OK to Muschamp, then pulled the rug out because the big money guys said no UGa alums as coach. If Clough says no, there is no reason to have a board meeting.
 
You guys do know that Braine's first choice, who *was* presented to the committee, was Tom O'Brien at BC.

And the committee *publicly* rejected him.

There was even an article in the AJC about it and quotes from Kim King about why they didn't want to go with O'Brien (spoken was that they were concerned about his 'boring' offenses following what we were doing with Fridgen and Bill O'Brien. Unspoken was that Tom O'Brien wanted the academic standards for for football players loosened, and the admin wanted to tighten them up).

Braine didn't quit, he went out and got another guy.

But it's not like this stuff doesn't happen.

I pointed that out to an extent last night during the chat but things were moving so fast I think it got missed.

It is accurate. I broke this story last night with the aid of an insider; I just didn't start my own thread on it. Its ridiculous and poor form by GT admins.

EXACLTY. What is worse...is if I tell you who WM's staff was....WOW

and it pissed off someone that WM chose for that staff....so bad...that this person said F-off to tech.
