This is according to a source of a source. Said that the committee could not get past the dog thing. He was Dan's choice.

Speculation from him is that this is the recent elevated interest in Hatcher and maybe Johnson.

If true, I hate that our AD was shot down in his first big hire.

I don't buy it. If our board is this pathetic, then no wonder why GT football is stuck. Secondly, from what I understand they haven't even met yet.
 
Interesting rumor and could see it being real. Clough was really firm on having a united fan base. It really depends on who was on the committee. What alumni and their feelings? I do think Rad has underestimated the rivalry and special issues associated with it.

Do not forget the previous board reject Tom O'brien as well.
 
If this is true, DRAD is gone

at the first opportunity, and I don't blame him.

Agreed. We need the best and most energetic coach available. Not some political choice.
 
This was posted in the Hive chat room. A poster said he has source that played with WM at UGA and he was told this by WM old college roommate. Just another rumor to add to the pile. Let's slow down guys.

GOOD!

DRad couldn't have picked a more risky, 'keep our fingers crossed and hope it works' type coach in Muschamp.

If Muschamp hadn't have won 8 games in his first year and beaten UGAy by his second year then both DRad and Muschamp would have been run out of town on a rail, tar and feathered.

You'd think DRad would be smart enough to try to hire someone who would unite the fanbase. If Muschamp went .500 his first year there would be an absolute revolt to make the CG thing look tame...

I think this board is just fine and whether or not we can filter or disseminate between good and bad rumors is going to be a challenge on any board. Maybe form a committee of mods that can do background checks on each poster and confirm or deny any speculations postulated before allowing them to appear publicly? Of course that may cause our board to be considered boring because we will know all posts are factual and thereby our opinions won't mean squat as we try to assert our biases onto the heads of others of lesser "in-the-know-ness".Let's just go with what we got guys.

CCG wouldn't go .500 next year. One reason why I said to keep the old cuss one more year then fire him.

I hope this rumor is true. IF, Muschamp were to be hired, I would think the credibilty of Gt and Clough would come into question publicly. To come out after Gailey was fired and say that unifying a fanbase with a young energetic offensive minded coach that would put fans in the seats, THEN, hire an ex-Player from our in-state ARCH rival and a coach from the defensive side of the football, this would be against all the criteria Clough spoke of. I hope the board and He stop Drad right in his tracks. ANY of the candidates mentioned thus far, would be more accepted here at Gt than Muschamp.
