Muschamp out

I hope that they put a clause in his contract that he cannot leave to go to UGA.

i don't think Ish was calling WM a clown, he was referring to another poster calling him a clown

I don't understand what is wrong with muschamps swearing....a boom microphone picked it up accidentally and now its a big deal. Oleary cursed like a sailor, so does frank beamer and 80% of the coaching base probably does.

Start warming up to WM being the next HC at GT....

Maybe if Gailey had done a little more swearing, butt chewing and butt kicking things might have been different for him.

i will be cheering for Tech, but my opinion of this guy is that he might be ready for a HC job in about 5 years.

I dont want a screamer as Head Coach, i want someone with some respect and some knowledge

he coached with SABAN, the slime ball run to the next job scamster

he coached at AU, NOTHING like Tech. His 'recruiting skills' will have to be re-learned on how to talk to an athlete that can actually read and write (probably better than him)

i dont like him and i can have my opinion.. and YES i would rather have Gailey

we should have gone after Zook

6 years of reading chan gailey quotes, and you call WM a clown?

I don't even want to start telling u stories about Chan his own players told me.
I was talking to BuzzCzar.

I hope that they put a clause in his contract that he cannot leave to go to UGA.

That would probably be a good idea but there's really only one (maybe two) scenarios that I could imagine that being activated:

1) Richt leaves for another job, such as FSU or Miami - highly doubtful, I think.

or (and here's the one I like)

2) WM beats up on UGA so bad the next few years that he topples their program and Richt is let go - and that's being just a little wildly optimistic.

yeah... im the clown
dont try to take my title... we will see what happens and if it is WM then we will all get to see his record for at least 3 years.

i personally still hope we dont go down that road

we should have gone after Zook
Wow. That statement alone is enough to tarninsh whatever opinion you may have about Muschamp.

Don't concern yourself too much with WM's college affiliation. If he comes to Tech, the dawgs will turn on him and he will be a hardened Jacket. Just ask Dewberry.

Why don't you go call up Zook. I'm sure he's not busy preparing for a BCS bowl or anything. Probably has plenty of time on his hands to talk to GT about a coaching position we could never afford.

wouldnt it be great if we were actually talking to qualified candidates though?

So Buzz, watched any other youtube videos of Muschamp other than the "famous" one?

I have, and can see the command of his team, the knowledge of the game, and the passion that he brings. The "famous" one is interesting....the others are much better

See that's the problem. If he beats UGA like we all hope then UGA can just hire him out from under us unless we put it in the contract. If he objects to having that clause in there then I don't want him.

Just because someone's qualified doesn't mean they'll do a good job. Any way you look at it, it's a gamble no matter who we take.

you sure can have your opinion.
WM isn't anymore a screemer than GOL
Secondly, take a look at where WM defense ranked in the NFL last year with Miami...an horrible Miami team.

this guy is a good coach. A screemer that can't coach coming from college doesn't work in the NFL; and he succeeded pretty darn well.

Coached Miami Dolphins to top-10 rankings in the NFL in yards per play (4.7, 7th), yards per rush (3.7, 7th) and yards per pass (6.0, 9th) in 2005, and the Dolphins were second in the NFL in sacks with 49 ... Helped LB Zach Thomas and DE Jason Taylor earn Pro Bowl selections in 2005 ... Was the defensive coordinator at LSU during its national championship season in 2003 ... LSU led the nation in both scoring defense (11.0 ppg) and total defense (252.0 ypg) in 2003

That's a good point, and I don't think anyone's mentioned the possibly that a new position could develop a certain reserve or maturity in a person. Maybe something like, "I'm a head coach now, not a coordinator, so I won't go out on the field and yell 'BOOM MFer!' anymore." Just a thought.

this is a joke to me and DRad looks like a fool IMO

to fire Gailey for this clown??? ridiculous. i want someone with experience and someone who can get the respect of players, coaches and media alike

i dont think this guy is it. name one head coach that has lasted the test of time that is one of these guys, and not a kill you with a stare type

im not against cursing in general, but if you think that will fire up the team or the fans, i dont think you are right

also, i think WM will definitely NOT unite our fan base. he will have exactly the problems that Gailey had with the fans, and guess what.. i think he wont be a good coach. i hope i am wrong, but DRad just lost major points in my book if we hire this chump

Buzz check out this article by Ryan Stewart if you have not already seen it. http://www.790thezone.com/interactive/article_detail.aspx?ID=1628

I honestly believe we have talent that is not being coached up. I feel this guy might solve this problem. Hopefully, whoever breaks the streak against UGAY is the best choice. But, in the mean time we could use some rowdiness in stands. I am sick of the sit and weak clap that goes on right now. I want passion.
Give me one major candidate that you feel will bring it.
Also, I know plenty of red necks that don't use profanity. GOL used the f bomb all the time. Maybe he is just Southern Irish

True, but if he is that successful, we'd want a nice buyout clause in there to protect us from a bunch of teams that would want him, not just UGA. The dogs comin' a callin' would just be a worst case scenario then. But I see your point.

well first off, the Miami defenses were about the same before WM and after his arrival. so his influence was basically nothing.

second, GOL was a screamer and what happened after about 5 years??? the players got sick of him, he got tired of yelling and he left. ONE 10-win season, then worse every year after that

it only works for a while...

Your right, Auburn being the first in the list with the Tub playing coaching roulette every year.
