First off, I would like to thank the crew that runs this board. There is no question that they put in a great deal of time and effort to this site.

Let me get this out of the way: I am a "Friend of Chan"! He has my full support. He is a class act and the type of person that I for one would want representing Georgia Tech.

An example of Chan's opposite might be a Jim Harrick. A certain "university" to our east thought that Harrick was the type of person that they wanted representing them. They knew about his background BEFORE they hired him. Well, guess what? It worked. When I think about the "University" of Georgia, I think of Jim Harrick.

I notice on this board that there is sometimes a lot of 'in fighting'. I believe that most of the posters are real Tech fans. Some of them have been very vocal with their displeasure going back to the end of last season. I can tell you one thing, there was was not a single Tech fan that was happy about the end of last season.

I don't think anybody could be too upset with Chan's dayview 7 win record. What they are upset with was the (and I hate to think about this again) very one-sided UGA loss and the bowl defeat against and undermanned Fresno State team.

This will not happen again! Chan had to play with the cards he was dealt when he got here. Now he he has his own deck of playing cards.

To the very few fans that are vocal against our coaching staff, I would like to plead with you to give them a chance to see how they perform. In the mean time please be supportive of our team (team=players and coaches)at the stadium and on public message boards.

Our head coach has made some major adjustments since the end of last season. We will see new players in key positions. We will see new coaches in key positions and we will see players and coaches that are moved to different positions.

Our team will enter this season with "our backs against the wall", we have something to prove. And I feel this coaching staff and these fine young representatives of Georgia Tech will make their case. My feeling right now is that at a minimum Tech will win at least 6 games and go bowling. They might win a lot more than that.

I'll go on record and say that we can beat Auburn who most feel is the toughest team on our schedule. If we can beat Auburn then we can beat anybody. To beat Auburn, I feel we need to win our first one against BYU. And I want Auburn to win their first game which will be very tough for them.

We have a HUGE game this Thursday night! Let's get behind our team and show them ALL of our support. I cannot wait until this Thursday night when "Toe Meets Leather".

Ditto here. My first post as well and I agree with everything you said except us beating Auburn aka Clempson without a lake. BYU game is huge because we need to get off on the right foot.

As you have probably have already seen..There are just a FEW that are constant Chan bashers..They are either Buuuldawg fans in disguise or are the FEW that are in cahoots together and have an agenda to make people dislike Chan (Ahso has smoked some of these FEW out)

If you are a friend of Chans..tell him that were behind him and as Chuck Dowdle said last night "Chan is a CLASS act and represents GT well" I also have followed his NFL career and am convinced in time he will get us into the Elite among College Football. Im especially impressed as to the top quality Assistants he has brought in..The cards are stacked against us this year but Tell Chan to hang in there and keep bringing in the Reggie Balls and Kenny Scotts and we will be ok...

To explain Auburn. I think Auburn will be a longshot. They should and probably will be heavy favorites.

Tech will also have a difficult path at BYU.
I think Tech could still win 6 games w/o BYU but it will be difficult because of other factors.

We could beat BYU lose to Auburn and F$U and still come out with a decent season.

I'd like to take all of them though

A big welcome to Ghost Buster and Fuzzy. I came on this board to try to offset some of these anti-fans that are so vocal in their non-support of our program. If you are a friend of Chan, you are a friend of mine. Keep on posting the good positive news and maybe we can at least cover up the negatives with a ton of positives.

A new season is starting, a new stadium (that I helped pay for) is towering, and I actually have some confidence in Braine. However, I have no clue what you just said. I am lost. I am hopiing that you and I agree! I just want to know what we agree on????

barbara streisand uses music to dispense some of her hot air and indulges in backseat politics to dispel the rest of her hot air.

barbara streisand's ghost (aka mark bradley's ghost) uses stingtalk to dispel his hot air (from both the ends) and stinks up the board.

ahsoisee made a post comparing bdg and barbara streisand .. saying how bdg craps on tech personnel from the outside looking in .. and how it is similar to barbara streisand bitching about republicans in power from the outside looking in.

his other claim to fame is that he coined the phrase "FOC'er" .. made a post on the board stating that his wife knows that he is not a FOC'er. being the good samaritans we are, we suggested medical help .. maybe viagra would work.

finally, i challenged bsg to a friendly wager. it was a simple one. i bet that tech would go bowling this year and he bet that there's no way that happens. his terms were also simple like his mind .. loser of the bet stays away from stingtalk for a whole year.

however, i wasn't going to settle for such simple terms. i told him that i would hate it if tech went bowling and bsg disappeared from the board. that's the last thing i want.

my terms were as follows: if tech goes bowling

bsg has to drop bobby dodd from his font name. in fact, he has to change his name to barbara streisands ghost.

he has to change his signature to "chan gailey rocks and ylojk8 rules. papa can you see me? papa can you hear me?"

finally, he has to write a letter of apology to chan gailey and post it on the board as well.

i told him that he was free to come up with similar terms for me should i lose the bet.

at this point he chickened out. said that he doesn't want to make a wager with such "gay" hurdles.

that was the reference to the bet in his post. after he chickened out .. my signature for a while was something like this ..

"i'm a ghostbuster .. i spank spooks to submission .. there's something strange in the neighbourhood .. who you gonna call? YLOJK8! there's something there .. and it ain't no good .. who you gonna call? YLOJK8"

LOL .. mark bradley's ghost is one of the scummiest fonts on this board.
 
I am very supportive of the 'Jacket football program, I am also very disappointed how CG has handled our team. Being a "class act" doesn't cut it when were getting whipped 51-7 to ugag in addition to losing to people like Wake and Fresno. But for now,...it's time to play football and let the chips fall where they may.

If you're a friend of Chan,...please tell him to do a better job of in-state recruiting, as it just might save his job.

First, When I said I was a "Friend of Chan" (parenthesis)I was referering to the reference on this board 'F.O.C.er' I have talked with Chan on several occasions but we are not close friends.

I'm glad to see that you are supportive of GT football. Being a "class act" DOES cut it when one is representing Georgia Tech. I have to agree, losing to UGetA 51-7 DOESN'T cut it.

We shouldn't have lost to Wake IMO even though Wake ended up with a respectable season and a bowl victory. Just as we shouldn't have lost to Wake under Coach O'Leary with Joe Hamilton at the helm. I was at that game and very dissapointed.
I am from the state of Georgia and would love to see us sign more in state atheletes. But I consider Tech a "National" school also. I want the best atheletes that can produce on the field and keep up with the new increasing academic demands.
