Recruiting is important, but not THE most important thing. Take a look at A&M, that dumb ass brings in all kinds of talent and can't do anything with it. Their AD is so stupid in contract negotiations he makes Stansbury look like a genius. At some point you have to coach. I am reminded of Spurrier truthfully needling Georgia when he said: " you guys need to find out what happens when these number one recruiting classes get to Georgia. We've beaten them 19 times out of 20 so something must be going on when they get there."

Most of the board wants Deion and this guy leaves it off his poll. Good work. Not voting.
... and they're ööööing idiots on many levels for wanting him. Tech's not sexy or deep pocketed enough to attract Prime, and if they were, all the unsuccessful battles he'd wind up waging with The Hill would make him want to quit within months of being hired! Why the öööö would he want to put himself through that?

That said, Chadwell should be on this ööööing list :dunno: .

yep, I also wondered where he is. My #1 choice right now.

Most of these are terrible ideas (Bronco, Gus, Rhule) or never in a million years going to happen (Briles, Urban, Freeze). The rest are mostly meh. Total pole fail.

Seriously, Bronco? Guy is 22-27 in the ACC, can't recruit, and just got tired and quit his last gig

Never understood the reverence some Tech fans seem to have for Bronco. I guess it's just because his BYU teams of 25-year-olds defended the option well? Not a terrible coach, but nothing special. He'd be a Gailey-esque hire at best.

There was a time when I would have been open to Gus, but his results at UCF have been pretty underwhelming so far. We would have beaten them with semi-functional coaching.

Have to disagree on Rhule. He flamed out in the pros but I was impressed with what he did at both Temple and Baylor. I don't think too many coaches could have gotten Baylor back to a top 10-15 program so soon after the öööö hit the fan.

Yeah, I thought Gus was an intriguing option in 2018 and Auburn may have been willing to talk. Seems clear his best work is far behind him now, though

Bronco would get us to the lower edge of mediocre, 5-7 to 6-6 range with an occasional 7-6 or 8-4 season.

Collins and his crap set this program back a decade. We'll need someone like Bronco to take the garbage out and rebuild us to that level, the guy behind him will need to elevate to get back to where we were. It will likely take 3+ coaching changes to get to the desired 8+ win average season everyone so desparately wants. We were 1 coaching change away from that, but we picked someone whose strategy was so far off base of what we needed to do it completely screwed us.

I don’t buy that, we are closer personnel-wise to a modern college offense now than after PJ’s retirement. There’s no reason we need 3 more coach hires to climb out of this hole. We have got to get the right guy, a coach who can score points in innovative ways with less talent than the factories . Chadwell.

Jim Tressel would be fantastic if Tech could pull him from his academic gig

We could also kick the tires on Lloyd Carr, Phillip Fulmer, and Barry Avalrez to see if theyre interested.

I’m not buying our tallest is what we think it is otherwise Key and the rest of the staff should be gone today if that’s the case
