We’re just soft. Nobody plays angry. We need to get mean, somehow.

Let’s start by dropping dumbass platitudes and slogans pertaining to culture like competition is king, elite, or the latest flavor of the month - “toughness.”

Just shut up and go about your ööööing business and stop talking about dumbass öööö that doesn’t actually produce results.

I’m stick and tired of a GT head football coach that wishcasts stupid ass culture.

Hey Brent, shut the öööö up and do something about it. You, loser.

This definitely would be a starting point. Nobody has a mean streak that stands out. I've never seen a good defense that wants to avoid contact.

So … what one area of the team if we were just average, the Jackets would be 6-1 right now? With all the weeping and gnashing of teeth, we are a couple of decent def lineman from being 6-1 right now, tied for 1st in the conference, and putting way more fannies in the stadium. Am I wrong?

Yes.

Key is a fair to middling coach trying to be a head coach. Hope it works out. I remember Bobby Ross's first couple of years at Tech. Miserable. Arguably there's no comparing the two but Bobby was ööööed for the first couple of years and he knew it but it didn't keep the man from trying. Like CPJ said 'You've got to play the games.'

Historically, getting enough special big nasty DLs has always been a tremendous weakness for the Institute.

It sounds like we are “that close”, but honestly, we are a long, long way away.

We have blown leads in all of our losses except for the Ole Miss game.

Honestly, I think we all know deep down that we are an improved team…problem is, every Tech fan is just sick and tired of being sick and tired. I know I am.

Pretty much this. Our record this year would be better with a better D esp up front.

Come on….GT isn’t close to 6-1. If you want to say 5-2 is the high water mark, sure. GT lost one they blew (UofL) and won a game they had no business winning (Miami). So that’s a wash. Truthfully GT should be 4-3 looking at the schedule fairly. Never should have lost to BG, but Wake / BC were ”toss-up” games. Losing to BG is the only thing preventing GT from being 4-3 where they should be.

Yeah. You’re right. It was the defense that had 7 straight drives against BG with no yards or points. I guess it was also the defense who did nothing but turn the ball over in the 4th quarter yesterday. Hell, the defense gave GT chance after chance after chance to blow Wake out and the offense sputtered time and time again.

Do some of you fail to watch the offense in the 2nd half of games? It sure as hell seems that way. GT scored LESS points against BC than EVERY other team they played including Holy Cross.

NIU - 27
Holy Cross - 28
FSU - 31
UofL - 56
UVA - 24
Army - 24
GT - 23

After sleeping on it for a night, as bad, disappointing, infuriating, and depressing as things are for us right now, I think I would rather be us than Clemson, who is on the verge of once again sliding into irrelevance. At least we theoretically have some measure of hope (more for some than for others). I don't think that right now Clemson has much hope at all.
