Almost every kid out of high school puts 4.5 forty as their time if they play CB, RB, WR, etc.
However...at the NFL combine this week only 2 CB's ran a sub 4.50...(Nicholls State's Lardarius Webb- 4.46 & Illinois' Vontae Davis- 4.49).
Among running backs, only 4 of them ran a sub-4.5.....they were Virginia's Cedric Peerman- 4.45; Boist State's Ian Johnson- 4.46, Purdue's Kory Sheets- 4.47, and NC State's Andre Brown- 4.49.
I have seen forty times of players a full .50 seconds slower than their claims in high school and/or college....and this is after training on proper forty technique for the combine!
At the end of the day...football speed is what matters most.
