Collins is not going anywhere until after the season. Any suggestion otherwise is nonsense.
I really don't understand what anyone thinks that would accomplish

It is purely financial...it is what it is.I really don't understand what anyone thinks that would accomplish
They’re not thinking logically - only emotionally. It’s also the “I want it now” mentality. Collins is gone at the end of next year if he doesn’t produce enough wins, but he won’t be gone before that.I really don't understand what anyone thinks that would accomplish
Wrong. I agree he won’t be gone until after the season but to say those who want him gone now are just speaking emotionally or are of the “I want it now” crowd is ridiculous. I see both sides and neither is wrong. The only wrong regarding GT is that the coach we hired 3 years ago is bad at his job. The fans aren’t wrong. The TV slots aren’t wrong. The players aren’t wrong. The students aren’t wrong. What’s wrong is 3 win seasons for a school and alumni base who believe we are more than a 3 win program. Bobby Ross and George O’Leary aren’t walking thru those doors. Neither is Nesbitt, Hamilton, or Coleman Rudolph. This current coach was not fired. Fine. He has another season to show us something or anything. His success is our success. His failure is all to himself and the next coach will have a much bigger rebuild on his hands because after a 4th season of Vandy football on the Flats what 4 star players will want to come here? They’re not thinking logically - only emotionally. I think you have the sequence reversed. We can replace TStan mid-season with no buyout impact. This needs to happen so the new AD can hire a new coach as soon as feasible after the season.Summary. The program is a dumpster fire. Collins will probably be gone by mid season. Stansbury will follow. Better days to come.
By my math 85-10 = 75 ::gasp::: Shocking!!!
Do some research on just how many open slots other schools have before you make a post like this. Ten is roughly the average of players in the portal per team, it seems. Thus, it stands to reason that 10 is roughly the number of slots they have open.
This all seems like a pretty emotional response.Wrong. I don’t disagree with this at all. As soon as we are out of bowl contention, fire TStan.I think you have the sequence reversed. We can replace TStan mid-season with no buyout impact. This needs to happen so the new AD can hire a new coach as soon as feasible after the season.
The SEC model for at least sixty years. The new rules just make it easier. The portal isn't a closed loop. There are a number of schools openly encouraging the players that aren't panning out to enter the portal in order to open up a scholarship for a HS recruit. The dumpster up the road signed 6 players more than available scholarships and came right out and said they were recommending that certain players currently on scholarship prepare to use the portal. #firstworldproblems
Wrong. Not emotional at all. All that matters is wins. We have a coach who can’t bring those and an AD who has allowed him to stay. I’m fine with it. We are in a lost decade anyway so might as well save some bucks along the way. This all seems like a pretty emotional response.
How, after 3 full years do we have a slice of Swiss cheese for an offensive line?
Ralph Freidgen couldn't run an offense with this OL.
The answer is Key to G*C*'s future.
While I agree I think Minor League teams (like us) should be hauling in larger than normal HS classes for this reason as stars will transfer for more exposure and disgruntled players leave for more PT. We will likely be a net negative in transfer portal nearly every season. The portal has changed recruiting for pretty much every team. You’re gonna see a lot of teams going forward taking smaller HS classes and larger portal classes. It is what it is.
IOW, if GT can find a reason to fire him for cause so we do not have to pay his buyout.
Hawt.Since Arky is my other team may I suggest we all chip in and buy him a motorcycle?
How's the women's volleyball team looking these days? No, I don't mean how are they playing, how are they LOOKING?
