Hivered Tech, we dont agree often but, we do here. Neuheisel is a risk i dont want to take.

I don't think he's an "untouchable" right now; I mean D-Rad is shopping around, looking at every available option. Surely he knows more than what the average fan has gathered from reading papers.

NO. Just a great football coach who is clean- And New-Weasel is neither. Look at how he sucked after his recruits played in his last 2 years at each place. Plus, 4 years at each says it all- He is SHADY.

Of course they did! They could do whatever they wanted- go down and rob the 7-eleven! I dont want a "Best Friend" coach at all and thats what he was at CO and Wash.

I will tell you that maybee RN would be a great hire and etc., but the "surly DRad knows what he is doing" logic is flimsy. I show you thousands of instances of smart people screwing up. Sometimes they go to prison and sometimes they cost there company billions of $$$'s.

I do HOPE DRad knows what he is doing. My wife went to Emory for MBA and they preached HOPE is not a strategy.

I will keep an open mind. I hope the next coach at GT we end up renaming the stadium after him.

I have to agree with LawBee here (can't believe I'm saying it) but you have to look at actual evidence to judge DRad. He hasn't been on the job that long and this is his first big time decision. Just because the man is charismatic, approachable and fires up the masses with the right rethoric doesn't mean the right desicion will be made. I just hope that this whole RN business is a good smokescreen to sneak the real candidate through the back door and surprise everyone.
 
Tell ya what hivered, if DRad hires him I promise to give him a chance and support him 100% with my $$$ and fannies in the seats. And if DRad hires Hatcher or Johnson or Muschamp or whomever I'm gonna do the same thing.

There was a group of #$%^#@ "Tech" fans who never gave our previous coach a chance. They and anyone with their attitude are a tumor eating away at our chances of success. I refuse to be a part of it.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised to learn that dRad is smart enough to use the internet against itself.

Would you elaborate? What more of a chance did you want to give? Even the most prominent ex-SA on this board "voted" for dismissal.

I ALWAYS support the GT coach because I am behind the student-athletes.
I even supported Bill L***s while he was here...quietly voicing displeasure to the appropriate people.
I will just have to be more nervous when I read the morning news each day with some coaches more than others...with stuff that all the win's in the world can't make go away.

Hivered, I know you are a great Tech fan. What I am trying to say, in a poor way I guess, is that we don't need to assassinate the character of our HC before he even gets here. Everything is public record and most Tech fans should be intelligent enough to assess that (although many of these posts and over the past few years with CCG may cause one to wonder).

Instead of NO WAY etc maybe it should be something to the effect of "Coach Candidate _______ Has a record that makes me skeptical" (1) Blah, blah. Over the top negatism or optism tends to obscure reason in any topic.

Personally I'd rather have a coach that runs on the edge. With the AJC, the number of recruits we had in house, the aggressiveness during a game, etc. our previous coach NEVER ran on the edge.
I'd like that and I think that's what it takes to win lots of games and be noticed in the southeast. It isn't pretty and I'm not at all saying we need to cheat, but I really would like someone that works the system and not somebody who has the system working him.
I have my faith in DRad on this choice and I'm letting him, his investigators and his committee folks make the decision. Like it or not, but college football, much less anything in life, is just not what it was back when Dodd was coaching. If you want to compete, compete hard. If you want to be the Sisters of Georgia Tech, then go play Non-Bowl Championship Football Stupid Division Name Thingy.

From my perspective, RN just worked the system like every other coach out there. If you don't like the system, then change it.

Now if we have skeletons in our closet, then we don't want RN around.

Also, if it was your job to come on here and destroy one of the finalists so that DRad eventually gets who he wants anyway, then you've done a good job. I think there is a lot of that going on these days.

But its' okay, it's a good change from before.

I think a lot of us agree with what you say but on the other hand what I do not want is some idiot riding in front of a recruit's house and calling him from his cell phone to tell him to look out his window. We need to win but we need to win with class and that ain't it.
 
This Neuhiesel situation reminds of the fable about the turtle and the scorpion:

The scorpion needed to cross a river. He asked the turtle to give him a ride on his back.

The turtle said “How do I know you won’t sting me?”

The scorpion replied that it would be suicidal to do so because then they’d both drown.

The turtle saw the logic and agreed to ferry the scorpion.

Halfway across the river, the turtle felt a sharp sting.

As they sank under the water, the turtle gasped “Why did you do that? Now we’ll both die.”

“I can’t help it. It’s my nature,” said the scorpion.

The only difference in our case will be that the scorpion (Neuhiesel) will jump onto another turtle's shell floating by while we sink to the bottom.

great post and my life experience validates this fable. I have seen numerous people continually screw up at ALL LEVELS OF THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC spectrum.

I can tell you RN maybe the COMPLETE opposite of CG for better or worse.
